The way IC implements the Candle colors makes no sense to me. It currently uses the algorithm: a) close less than open -> red b) close equal to open -> color of previous day c) close greater than open -> green If the previous day is red then a stock can close 8% higher and mark a DOJI in red even if the DOJI closes higher than the previous day's high. This would be an improved method: a) close less than open -> red b) close equal to open -> [ b_1) close less than previous close -> red b_2) close equal to previous close -> color of previous day b_3) close greater than previous close -> green ] c) close greater than open -> green (Message edited by ohkoolnutz on August 15, 2007)

I got the headline wrong. I meant Candle colors and not OHLC colors.

OHK, Thank you for the suggestion. We will consider this, but I cannot promise that the change will be any time soon. Regards, Colin

The color problem does apply to OHLC too. If there is a higher high and a higher low than the previous day then that should be regarded as an UP day, irrespective where the stock closed, and should be shown in green. The opposite obviously applies where there is a lower high and a lower low. Currently there might be a red OHLC even when the stock made a new high, because the close was below the previous close. This works where the focus is only on the close and not on the day's trading range. Perhaps there is a way to select whether the focus (and color) should be on the close or the trading range? Thanks

OHLC colors are based on closing price. Where closing price (today) equals closing price (yesterday) we show the same color as yesterday's bar. Regards, Colin
