Market, business, seasonal cycles etc exist within our sharemarket(s). Certain sectors rise and fall on a regular basis. Some stocks display strange behaviour prior to set dates. Studying or analysising these regular cycles may present some profiting experiences for investors. To eloborate, we have seen a month of company reporting. Reporting is a set date in the calendar and the market is well aware of these events. Many stocks have rallied up & down towards these dates, only to collapse or spike skywards. Some stock rally towards ex-dividend date, some sectors out perform in a bear market, others out perform in a bull market. All of the above are examples of well know cycles. Weinstein preaches picking stocks from winning sectors. I am assuming that some of these cycles happen on a regular basis, and are quite clear on the charts. Can anyone suggest a few useful cycles that they have noticed and regular benefit from?
