Hi Robin, Though I would have no use for the names in emails - a lot of the people who get into arguments have some excellent charts and analysis, I don't object. I tend to delete more according to thread. When I get home at the end of the day, I download all my emails. The IC ones go into their own folder where they are automatically sorted by subject. That way, if it's a stock/subject I'm not interested in, I can delete all those emails very quickly. The emails are now sorted by poster's name - is there any chance you could put the name at the end? Regards, Elisabeth

Colin Would it be possible to add the poster's name to the 'from' either before or after 'chart forum'. I also do as Elisabeth does and like to sort the IC emails by the ASX code at the start of the subject line - btw, I'd also like to see that made a rule. For your consideration.

Hi Elisabeth and Zorba, Thanks for your feedback. I've now placed the [username] at the end of the subject. I will see if there is a way to place the username in the "From" field, but I'm not too optimistic at this stage. Robin

Robin, Zorba and Elizabeth, seems you beat me to it. Fortunately I didn't spot the name field at the start of the subject. That would be terrible. Having the name at the end of the subject destroys the email clients ability to sort by subject then date, as Elizabeth said. It would be much better as part of the from string as other mailing lists tend to do. Personally I don't like the new format as sorting by Subject/Date is more important to me than filtering by a user. I will simply skip the entire thread if there is too much dribble, bull and tears. Having the name in the subject isn't important to me as most users have something useful to say and only occasionally go off the rails (that includes me), so blocking a particular user has little benefit. If the user is that bad then he should have been banned by the moderators anyway. Placing the username, unobtrusively in the body of the message, suitably tagged in a format that can be searched by an email rule (the rules don't care whether it is in the subject, from, to or body). That way, those who wish to trash UserX all the time can do so without any dramas for other readers. Happy Tradng all regards Shawky Oh, one more suggestion to members, carrying on about something you don't like needlessly and endlessly just tends to make matters worse.

Thanks for the original suggestion and feedback in this regard. I've managed to move the [poster] to the "From" field in the email. If you have already set up mail filters for the previous "poster in subject", you will need to adjust those rules accordingly. Robin
