G'day all, [I'm back from the wilderness after being off-line for a few weeks.] [Many thanks to blue_chap who helped me get up and running with a new network.] D4F have just told me there are no more off-market orders taken. That's LIMIT, IF DONE, OCO and even STOP SELLS and BUYS. I told them there would also be no more on-market orders - at least from me. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. I've been using IG Index as a back-up and have been very happy with their service, so it's over to IG. Looking forward to the rest of the thread. Best regards to all, Stan.

Hi Stan I'm not sure what extra information you have received from D4F, however, the message I received states, amongst other things: "Contingent Orders: With immediate effect, Limit/ Stop orders can only be placed during CMC's normal quoted market hours. This means that no stops/limits can be placed when the underlying cash and ADR / GDR market is closed." I do NOT think this means that D4F will not allow "contingent orders" at all. Rather, my understanding is that "contingent orders" can be placed between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., AEST. Dean

Hi Dean Yes, that's my understanding. I work and can't place orders during the day on their trading platform. The recent changes were OK with me - you know - like - whatever - get on with it! But, there have been a few other issues that biased me against DFF and they have become obsolete to me. Regards, Stan

Hi I've just found that IG Index accept off-market telephone orders 24 hours a day for CFDs. That's Limits and Stop Buy/Sells to open positions at specified future prices. I've been told they have plans to incorporate this into their trading web-site, but the phone does the job till then. Regards, Stan
