What are the basics recommended by the old hands out there for a starry eyed, half-intelligent newcomer to shorter term swing trading? (ie holding long or short positions for days or weeks). Ive gone through the excellent on line introductory training units on the ASX site, and have also found the material on this site and the wealth of experience available in the discussion board immensely helpful. I reviewed the thread on the top 10 trader texts, which does have some good recommendations (albeit from a limited number of contributors) but I feel they contain some advanced material that assumes a lot of knowledge. Ive completed a business degree and have read Elder's "Come Into my Trading Room" (found it great) started on Guppy's "Trend Trading" and have a copy of "Master Swing Trading" by Farley on standby. There is SO much information out there, im really keen to distill what are considered by the "elder statesmen/women" on this board to be the keystone learning blocks for newbie traders. This can cover texts, courses (private or part of a formal qualification)websites, whatever. Thanks!
