Over the 23 months and 2 weeks that I have been educating myself, the greater IC Forum family has been my mentor. I've lost money, and learned how not to ... mostly. One of the biggest steps forward came after listening (as opposed to talking) to a market coach in Brisbane, for a couple of hours, and I intend to spend more time with him yet. But I notice that as I develop a feel for the time frame and style of trading that is "right for me" the steps most meaningful have come from personal, and sometimes private interactions from members with whom I have formed closer friendships. After reading posts here that have brought the "aha!" response, and formulating a method/strategy/plan that I can personally "own" I have come to this conclusion: I would have developed more swiftly and safely, had I accessed significant tutoring from the outset. Would I have listened then? I can not say. Perhaps ... perhaps not. I believe an adverse experience will bring you to this conclusion ...eventually. One suggestion I have to help members of IC to begin trading safely, is to find a buddy, a mentor, to whom you become accountable for your actions in executing trades. Understand that this is not financial advice, but education. You tell your buddy what you plan, and why, and receive feedback. The management of the trade is discussed between both, and final outcome dissected. Time constraints vary for each of us, but I believe this would benefit not only the learner, but also the mentor.
Keep Smiling Trading style :CFD's predominantly. Looking for ways to enter CFD trading over long term.
