I have been learning about leadership and complexity lately and have found it very interesting what is complexity " many people struggle when it comes to complexity, or wearing different 'hats' at one time. one of the ingredients of leadership is the ability to handle the complexities and demands of multi faceted decision making." 6mths ago i started another portfolio and really struggled with making it work, after 2mths i closed it and realised that it was just one to many, i had got beyond my limit. After understanding complexity, i now understand why. Many of us work, trade (sometimes multiple ports), are married have children, sport, study and many more. Our lives can be very busy and complex our ability to manage this and recognise our limits is essential. Our ability to handle complexity can be developed like a junior develops into the CEO One man brought up that women are often better at this because they use both sides of there brain and quite often spend there day as a house wife (looking after children, cooking, managing the house and finances, doing things at school, taking kids to sport, music, looking after older parents ect...)but this is task complexity not decision. Sometimes we do not understand why we just can not handle one more thing. Or make the hard decisions that need to be made. Just recognising your own level can help just thought i'd share Chris
