Hi Doug My opinion is that PRICE is a very good criteria to look at. And you can't go past Newton's first law of motion as an indicator, which is often stated as An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction until acted upon by an external force. Don't get too carried away, you will always see what you want to see. Money management is essential, in my mind it is more important to NOT LOSE than to win.

Doug It's a lifetime study What TA books have you read? One place to start is Stan Weinstein's "Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets" Try searching the left hand panel for the 4 Weinstein Stages Then see if you can recognise each of the 4 stages by entering some ASX Stock Codes in the IC Charting facility I would be interested to know if you can find any emerging Stage 2 stocks Some people believe that the longer a stock spends in Stage 1 the great the move up There are some definite criteria to be met before a clear Stage 2 is confirmed, and I suggest you study those very carefully Is your trading time frame minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years? Choice of chart (intra-day, daily, weekly, or monthly) will depend on your answer Hilarius
I come in peace to share my thoughts and to shine my candle light on possible long term opportunities
