It's probably due to the decline in Hard Copy Newspaper Readership but some new innovations are developing in particularly Small Companies Publicity. Managing Directors Declare their Self Interest and proceed to take Questions on General Websites complete with Pictures of say Mining Operations.PLV is currently cleared by ASIC for doing this. Lippy Spivs are employed/contracted to hit General Chat Sites and Demolish any Doubters/Contras/Anyone who Dares to not think/write that XYZ is the Most Fabulous Share ever and is on the Brink of Rocketing 100's of percent Upwards today if not tomorrow. These "Types" are usually what is termed "multi nickers" and come to Chat Rooms with their point first established by one poster and then immediately another "different" poster Agrees,Says something along the lines of "Gee Number One [First Poster]you're brilliant,really know your stuff,any one who disagrees with you #1 is a LOOSER!!" [they often misspell Loser] Of course there's these multi personality types just naturally on Chat Sites but I've read in the Financial Review that Companies,most dubious,have taken this to "Professional" Heights.

Been around awile now but there's that new Board Room Radio "douver" happening as well.This is an adaption on those Vanity Press "Interviews" by Aegis etc that you see pop up in the News/Announcements regularly,especially in Non Blue Chip shares. Now,smaller companies have a "problem" getting real media coverage and these "interviews" on radio or in print allow more definition/publicity to get out to their shareholders actual or prospective.However,they are subject to putting the best light possible on a Companies Activity.They are Biased,no negative/contra ideas are covered because,well,the Company's paying for it.They are in No Way Investigative.It's just PR. However,seems to me,that some pilgrims see these things on a par with an ASX Company Announcement,designed for Full'n'True Disclosure to the Market.ASX announcements can be "dodgy" but at least there are Rules enforceable about deceit. These PR Interviews are NOT.Things can be "alluded" to,Voice Tones can influence.Simply the MD interviver can say "We MAY be able to find the richest field since Olmypia",and that They Cannot,too,is left unspoken. There seems to me that a Cult of Director's Personality is forming by these PR exercises as a Primary reason to buy a Companies Shares. "He sounds so Honest and Forthright" the pilgrims enthuse."Did you notice how he hesitated before answering the question about How Soon?" and the pilgrim assumes they got the Inside Word by a pregnant pause. Anyhow,a clever con is NOT delivered in a Used Car Salesman's Voice.
