Hello, Does such an animal exist? I'm trying to find out what tools are available that will allow me to scan for stocks entering S2. Thanks in advance! :-)

Where did traderron go? I believe the protocol around IC is to help others, share knowledge etc. Cheers Sway

My apologies. When I said, "I just found the feature", I should have clarified this a bit. I was looking for a tool to analyze stocks and the screener appears to be capable of this task. I haven't attempted to identify S2 stocks but I plan to become more familiar with the tool moving forward. Hope this helps. :-)

Reply to traderron and general whinge: OK traderron, no sweat. In my opinion IC's screener doesn't do justice to the rest of the program, which is generally pretty good. Colin has long promised something better but if you look back through the history of suggested improvements, we haven't seen much headway. I find it hard to understand why having Canadian stocks is a priority? Cheers Sway

hey sway, you computer savvy nuf to take hilarius[d'Roger] post from Daily Bread; you know d'One about Weinstein,ya hero/guru/d'Only One2Follow. Know what I mean, sway? The Weinstein Theory as Exposayd by our Hilarius down in Daily Bread? about d'Down Times when one just haaaas2Bear? My Basic Position is that Weinstein is Old Hat and I'm here to TakeOut any'n'all Dissenters. Now,sway,Weinstein is Top of Colin's List as d'DING to Read. yet I never like NIX read the NY Wall Street,he and his like Brew!! [d'hat is more brimmed and d'nose needs "work"] but sway,Daily Bread was a Real Poor Choice of Venue for d'Ol'Hilarious Whine in a Stein Take on "d'Modern Market". Now,sway,Under IC protocol, would you Open a Weinstein Thread based on Hilarius[aks d'Rodger] post in Daily Bread. [ie can you cut'n'paste that post?] Whack into ya Very Own [U=Control!] Thread with your all ready you annonced SWAY,POV'zzz. doYaFollow? Do it and I'll be really Truly Interested. may even contribute.

Probably not, but I'll try. You want post number 3655 from here http://forum.incrediblecharts.com/messages/427230/1618760.html to be put in a new thread here http://forum.incrediblecharts.com/messages/12/1626542.html so that we can beat up Weinstein? OK. Done. Cheers Sway

As for IC screening method for Weinstein Stocks?Seems it's initially able to be based on Moving Average CrossOvers. Say 5/20 over 150?or 5/20 over 200 for possible watchlist potentials coming up for 150 cross over? I don't know what all the other Weinstein Indicators are but you could set them up in the Chart Pack for going thru this basic Trading above the 150 day/30 weeks List of charts. I don't think you can expect to fine tune screening to find Every One found is a Goer,a real short list that takes 5 minutes to go thru. You should use say Volume criteria to cull out the Absolutely Hopeless and Unsuitables that rarely trade but you should get All The Potentials to go thru and not miss some that are borderline,on the rise to potential Weinstein etc.Too fine a Criteria can give you these missed. The only other thing about IC screening is to make sure the Which Index you want to search box in the right hand corner is BLANK.Searching the All Ords for example misses some 1000 shares that are listed. Of course if you only want to dabble in ASX200?shove it in for your Cull. cheers.

some of the above questions may have already have been answered around Aug 2007 in the Weinstien Register Thread . a point I think you must take into consideration though in the current market conditions is Volatility/Momentum . as Weinstien is a Trend Following method , I would have thought it really is not the correct tool to be using atm . like a chippie's toolbox , pick the right tool for the job at hand Edit: may also be worthwhile to have a glance at the "2008 and Weinstein Stage 2 " thread in this section cheers (Message edited by coyotte on July 02, 2008)
