Any one interested in the concept of "Peak Oil"and the probabilities of it playing out. ?

http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/

In my opinion the probabilities look good. I am currently reading a book "Twilight in the Desert "- Mattew R.Simmonds which supports the theory

And looking to read "Crude "The story of oil -Sonia Shaw -who I also believe supports the theory.

"Crude "The story of oil if I am not mistaken will be screened this week on SBS or the ABC. (possible repeat)

While the concept is not new should we as traders take it seriously ? because if it plays out and we are a head of the curve , it could be extremely rewarding.

I personally believe the concept has strong probabilities -

The market is showing signs of pricing in future rises in the price of oil (poo) and hence supporting the peak oil concept.

The price of oil has been rising steadily since early 2007. The share price of our major oil producers WPL and STO are showing recent gains. Medium size producers like ROC and AWE are also showing healthy gains .

If the peak oil concept was to eventuate - as a trader , I would want to be in the following stocks - and the best stocks in their class

Oil

Uranium

Gold

The rise in poo would lead to inflation and hence drive up the price of gold. There would be very little governments could do to control poo as demand would out strip supply .

Any other views?

Cheers

Vermante

CRUDE:on TV ABC 8.30pm Thursday. Sydney Time.

Thanks Vermante for bringing this to our attention. If I don't get dragged out for Thursday night shopping I'll have a little look.

Cheers ... Visions
