Just shorted USDJPY @ 11958. Testing yesterdays high. Looking for around 80 or so pips.

Cheers Lafee

There is no danger of the public ever finding any key to the secret of winning. The crazy gambling urge and speculative hysteria make that a certainty. But if the public play ever did get wise to the facts of life, the principle of ever-changing cycles would move the form away from the public immediately.

Some sweet little fish for you today Lafee - well done.

My longer-term trades have me sitting on the sidelines waiting for my entry to be taken out.

Sad - not necessarily safe.

But on a bright note - I see the AUDUSD setting up for a good short on the hourly chart - now below recent lows.

That little candle turned into a tall green one, so the trade is off.

What we may have seen is a new support level.

Watching ...

Ignot,

I'm thinking more towards longs in the GBPJPY and to a lesser extent the AUDJPY. Still need to see some more momentum.

I'm happy to start the week in profit. Makes this so much easier after last weeks losses.

Cheers

watching with interest Ivan
I think the hopeful H&S on the hourly has failed to develop.
It's times like these you need a kid to ask ,
" which way is this chart going , up or down "

mthly

weekly

daily

4 hour

hourly

AUS/USD- possible short term counter trend ?

so if i am not a psyco, i enter with a buy stop order just below the neckline, that way i am trading what is the market, not what i want the market to do.

Mark

I see nothing wrong with a strategy of going short on that H & S provided:

1) It forms up as you said ... a bit shaky to call
2) It is formed on at least the 30 min chart - preferably the 1 hr chart.

I went short last night AUDUSD @ 8328 (8333) and went to bed. My target is 8300 but at the moment the trade looks like salad again.

There is a nice descending triangle forming today - 30 min chart - or is it a wedgie? Which way will it break?

I am betting it will break short, because the data released from the USA today should be much stronger than recently - the boost they have been looking for.

I'll post this morning's Sonray report in the news thread, but frankly I'm thinking of dropping it - it is only ever going to be a broad guide, and they have been calling it poorly about 70% of the time.

I did far better when I traded without the news, so I take it as a curiosity now - if they are right - good!

If they call it incorrectly - that's good too.

I'm indifferent to general news now - I am learning what is important news, and what is confetti!

I am still short, with a stop at 8347.

I have a conditional limit (sell) at 8286 in case of serendipity!

Hi Ivan
I think short is 8313 or even 8312 after it pass thru these points and possibly returns to test resistance ideally.
the head and shoulders has not formed so my trade is not "ON" , it is renaging at the moment, no reason to be in a trade on this i think ?

You got big cahoona's man, i take a breath when i get stopped and lose some cash.

Mark

When I look in the mirror the Cahoonas look normal to me!

My a/c has been up and down more times than an ant at a picnic table.

Last week was a disaster - from being up around 25% to being down 60% at time of last night's entry! At this moment this trade shows minus $18.01! Wow!

First question I ask now is: "Why the dickens didn't I take profit @ 8318 earlier this morning?"

Answer: - Losers are losers because they don't know how to win, and they don't know when they are well off.

Just because I have an opinion is no reason to miss profits is it? I am sure congratulations would flow like champagne on Derby day had the trade been executed flawlessly and touched my target at around 8300.

However, seeing that the Cahoonas are functioning well, we press on - there are always bigger targets to miss, and larger accounts to blow up.

I am still in the trade and it may yet reverse. The stress comes when you just sit and stare at the screen.

The brain is energy efficient - it runs on about 10 watts of power. A computer with the same processing potential would consume about a billion watts.

Today I am running on about 6 watts!
