Good Morning [Quote from ABC News] Inflation data lifts US markets US stocks made modest gains after the release of economic data that could suggest an easing of inflationary pressures. A report on wholesale prices indicated they fell 0.6 per cent in May. Excluding food and energy costs, the core producer price index rose 0.1 per cent. [End of Quote] Comment by Hilarius :- The world will never again experience serious inflation as long as Chinese and Indian productivity is driving prices down If and when those nations aspire to the obscene "world best practice" salaries paid in the West, there are always the poor of Africa and South America waiting to be freed from their unproductive shackles As the Anglo Saxon Empires sink in shreds and Europe preserves its true role as the museum of Western civilisation only Adidas, BMW and Mercedes will prosper abroad as symbols of Western opulence, ultimately to be rejected in favour of cheaper models Gold, the last refuge of the hopeless, will decline also as true productive values are recognised Would the last person in the gold market please turn out the lights? Blessings and Peace Hilarius

am switched on to you Bro Hilarius!!! "Gold, the last refuge of the hopeless, will decline also as true productive values are recognised" May I ask how this store of true productive values is recognised? The thesis to date assumes civilisations are built on stores of wealth (and to a lesser culture). And that aspiration to wealth and property is desired by those nations/peoples presently with little of either. Thus, may I ask what we should any of us aspire to? As goodness and happiness is a way live, but not a living of itself.

Dear Archer So frugal Chinese are frustrating the merchants of consumerism by avoiding the temptation of extravagance, gambling, holidays and luxuries Stupidly they are doing what we don't do in the West They are SAVING !!! What is the world coming to when people ignore the urgings of advertisers and banks to get into debt? The next thing is they might want to see their savings used productively! God forbid Hilarius

"It is ridiculous that the government encourages people to spend money," she said. "We can't be fooled by the government." Yes the chinese are very wise in that regard

breaking news: r2r press confirms that the Chinese busted open their piggybanks overnight and ran to their nearest gold supplier to convert paper savings into real currency. Our local reporter, Bro Hilarius, was nonplussed by the avalanche of buyers. "It's obscene", he declared. Interviewing a prominent bullion salesman, Bro Hilarius asked, "What do you see as the main role you played in this?" "To serve", was the simple reply. And we close this report noting that gold in euro dollars is presently $359.70 - a record price in recent years. (Footnote: silver prices were unscathed by the goldrush, and will need to find their own supportive factors.)
