http://finance.yahoo.com/tech-ticker/article/213532/D.C.-to-America-You-Can%27t- Handle-the-Truth?tickers=AIG,^DJI,^GSPC?sec=topStories&pos=9&asset=TBD&ccode=TBD D.C. to America: You Can't Handle the Truth Posted Mar 20, 2009 10:21am EDT by Aaron Task in Media, Recession, Banking Related: AIG, ^DJI, ^GSPC Since the financial crisis began in 2007, policymakers' message to the American people seems to have been adopted from Jack Nicholson's famous line in "A Few Good Men": You can't handle the truth. John Mauldin, president of Millennium Wave Advisors, says there are two good reasons why Ben Bernanke, Presidents Bush and Obama, Treasury Secretaries Paulson and Geithner, and other luminaries haven't leveled with the American people about the state of the economy and steps being taken to address the crisis. And I'm not (just) talking about the AIG bonuses. First, policymakers don't really have the answers. There "really is no playbook" for this downturn, says Mauldin, author of the popular "Thoughts from the Frontline" e-letter. He also worries the financial markets are predicated on academic theory that is faulty, and now policymakers are (effectively) trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Second, while pundits and analysts can afford to be "100% certain – and wrong" about what should be done, Mauldin notes policymakers don't have that luxury since their actions have real world consequences (intended and otherwise). Both points resonate but that still doesn't explain the lack of candor about both the size of the problem and actions being taken to address it. Moreover, there doesn't seem to be anybody in Washington with the leadership skills of Chesley Sullenberger, the hero of USAir Flight 1549, as Henry Blodget notes in the accompanying video.

stoian: I knew there was a sense of humour in there somewhere! NOW Tell me all you know about the number 25920 and I'll tell you all I know about Pi. 22/7 Regards, j
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over. Knowing, without the concept of thinking attached to it, is called wisdom.

Dear Justice and dear other people, INVESTING SHOULD NOT MEAN GAMBLING ANYMORE ! REAL MARKETS MUST BE - immediately=ON=Over-Night - SEPARATED FROM THE VIRTUAL MARKETS=CASINOS ! THE UPTICK RULE SHOULD EVER RULE AGAINST ANY DOWNTICK RULE, because this is the single normal=natural behaviour for investments (but not for gamblers, who are degenerated) ! A VIRTUAL DISASTER=END OF THE WORLD, SHOULD NEVER BECOME A REAL DISASTER=END OF THE WORLD ! Therefore, 25920, or even pi ? Radio Ga Ga http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEI4U5KyAS0 Because: The any - only - CIRCLE, is a landmark of the EVIL=BEAST and means only REGRESS=INVOLUTION. Only the SPIRAL - MANY CIRCLES INCREASINGLY LARGE ON DIFFERENT STAGES=LEVELS OVER TIME - is a landmark of the HOLY SPIRIT and means PROGRESS=(R)EVOLUTION indeed ! Regards, Doru Stoian

Dear Justice and other people, SPIRAL IS THE UNIVERSE ITSELF=THE GALAXIES=THE INFINITY ! THEREFORE A SPIRAL MEANS THE ETERNAL PERPETUUM MOBILE: or such a kind of a real=true market, that any honest investor is needing for ever. CYCLES MEANS SWINDLING AND THEFT ! CYCLES means to take from the many and poor to become poorer, and to give to the few rich to become richer ! This kind of a cyclical world must have and end indeed ! stoian: There is no REAL market in my view. The trading of a small percentage of shares on issue decide the directional price movement of a stock, it's ludicrous. That situation allows gross manipulation by the BANKS, plain and simple. Uptick rules shmuck-tick rules - The CYCLES will continue. The games can always be rigged. Insiders do not gamble. They steal deceitfully and with malice. There's a fundamental flaw in the number system - and it's creators. As for pi: just a little below. In the Beginning was the Word... and the void... 142857 x 0 = 0 142857 x 1 = 142857 142857 x 2 = 285714 142857 x 3 = 428571 142857 x 4 = 571428 142857 x 5 = 714285 142857 x 6 = 857142 on the Seventh day he rested as his work was complete... 142857 x 7 = 999999 there's more fun... http://strangeye.blogspot.com/ The meaning of 25920? Monty Python is the clue. Perhaps you do know it. I'm testing. A magick magic square, don't you think?
Regards, j P.S. I hope the spiral thing works out OK. http://www.dpedtech.com/TTbb.pdf
