The Aussies on IC are heavily into commodities. I think water and agriculture have the biggest potential. Australia is not the only country with drought problems. The worse it gets the more valuable farming sector should become. I have been wanting to get into water for a while. The chance came a few days ago with minimal risk at $22.11.

Is that hot water you're getting into Kool ?

This looks like a very good pick actually. Your timing looks to have been spot on.
Nice breakout, strong uptrend with trend strength increasing. In view of this stock's repeated two, three bar top reversals, how do you intend to trade it ?

You probably have another safe 60 cents in the trade although I can also see a H & S with a $4 depth.

Well OKN, you had another 40 cents.
I am curious of your plans now. The reversal will probably stop at the shoulder line. Do you intend to hold ?

I'll hold. I got no better stock to park the money. I don't even use trailing stops anymore because they always bump me out at a swing low. I dread selling a good stock and having to find another one while the one I sold keeps going up.

All I have is my stop loss and a strategy to wait if it isn't triggered.

I am still pissed off I got stopped out of CNST at $5.51 on Sep 19, 2006.

I frankly pay no attention to any of my holdings which are in profit. My focus is on my losers and finding Weinstein Stage 1's.

I feel great about SIMO. I bought in August at $14. It went to $18 and is now at $15. I accepted a 75% pull back on profits in expectation for a longer upmove. I'd rather lose $3 of profits on one stock than $3 of initial capital jumping from stock to stock.

Morning O,
Just keeping an eye on your investment here. WTR has failed to reach the H & S target and in fact had plummeted the other way. Last two candles show decent bottom tails so it would appear that the correction may be over.

Had a glance at the one hour chart and saw that a further retracement may be close at hand as another H & S has been set up this time, in the opposite direction with a $21.50 target.

Morning Kool,

Water seems to be flowing well again. That doji on the right seems to have been produced on many stocks in the US overnight, narrow ranges everywhere.

I just got back from a 5-week vacation without phone or Internet use. None of my stops got executed. One position out of 23 moved against me. The other 22 are steady or moved higher.

My life is more enjoyable away from the market and I actually made money by not trading the small fluctuations.

WTR has got a nice triangle:

Oh Kool One: I like your trading style. You could call yourself a share collector rather than a share trader. As long as they stay above the entry you keep them.

How do you cull the underperforming stocks in your portfolio? A recent example is GTP, posted elsewhere.

I sold IVC which went higher. I sold CAB which went higher. I sold OKN which went higher. I sold SDG which went higher. I sold BDL which went higher.

GTP is above my buy price and doesn't require culling. It's not underperforming in my time frame (infinity). Short-term trading is not for me. I am building a portfolio. Each stock is different. Some take longer than others to churn through enough volume to rise significantly.

My goal is to get in at a price which will not be revisited in the future so that I do not have to make sell decisions based on a loss.

Mornin' OKH.
The share price movement must have tested your resolve of late but I would like to tell you that as far as I can see the bottom may have been reached. The last candle, though taken before the end of the day, would indicate a low point similar to the one marked on the left of the chart. The corresponding CCI shows a
"hook" developing,; probably the start of a move towards channel top, a 13%+ move that you may even wish to pyramid on.

Oddly enough I wasn't worried. I barely pay attention to my stock charts anymore when the position is in profit. It doesn't matter to me if they go up/up/down/up/down/down/up and make me money or if they achieve the same thing going down/up/up/up/down/down/up/up.

The only thing I pay attention to is my buy price and perfecting entries. I still shit my pants every time I put on a new position because there is no certainty; no matter how good the risk/reward is.

I did think about putting some more money into WTR but since there are so many opportunities I'll rather spread it around and lower my portfolio risk.
