JAS could be described as buy high and sell higher example. I had a buy stop limit $17.16 on October 9, 2006. The price was 20% from the long-term MA. It doesn't matter where you buy. It matters that you buy at a price point where your entry price will not be revisited in the future and hence not trigger your protection order.

I lightened up some on JAS because the 50% rise since I bought it caused it to creep up to 15% in the portfolio.

I sold the rest of JAS because I figured if the entire market dives it would be the largest loser. I didn't want to risk having to ride out a retrace to $19 especially with so many other opportunities around lately. I had tightened my stop to right under the near doji days at $25.16 and got filled after the open at $25.04. If it comes back up I can always re-enter if I have the cash.
