I haven't made a trade in the US since the start of November. My broker has offered buy stop orders based on bid/ask for a while. The problem is that on occasion an order triggers without actually having traded at the price. It means you get filled when you didn't intend to be filled. I complained to them a few months ago and they now have a new contingent order system in place which offers Last, Bid, Ask, Volume, Change %, 52 Week High, 52 Week Low as possible triggers. In addition they have OCO and OTO and one can do such fancy things as using a trigger in an index to fire off an order in a stock related or unrelated to this index. I buy stop limit at $13.33 using Last as trigger and it worked.
