From the Yahoo Finance pages : Invitrogen Corporation provides products and services that support academic and government research institutions, as well as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The company operates in two segments, BioDiscovery and BioProduction. BioDiscovery segment offers functional genomics, cell biology, and drug discovery product lines. Functional genomics product line includes the research tools used in reagent and kit form for gene acquisition, gene cloning, gene expression, and gene analysis techniques. This segment also provides various enzymes, nucleic acids, and other biochemicals and reagents. It also offers software that enables analysis and interpretation of genomic, proteomic, and other biomolecular data for application in pharmaceutical, therapeutic, and diagnostic development. In addition, this segment offers antibodies and proteins, and magnetic beads used for biological separation. BioProduction segment offers Gibco cell culture products and BioReliance services. Gibco cell culture products consist of sera, cell, tissue culture media, and reagents that are used in life sciences research and in processes to grow cells in the laboratory, as well as to produce pharmaceuticals and other materials made through cultured cells. BioProduction services include testing of biologics; characterization of products’ chemical structures; development of formulations for long-term stability; and validation of purification processes. The company also manufactures biologics for its clients for use in clinical trials and for the worldwide commercial market. It markets its products directly and through distributors or agents worldwide. Invitrogen has collaborations with the NIH Chemical Genomics Center, Signalomics GmbH, and Cellartis AB. The company was founded in 1987 and is based in Carlsbad, California. IVGn recently missed out on being chosen as the supplier of some inoculation shots to the US army, hence the free fall. After a fairly short term gathering it's strength NVGN appears ready to attempt to climb back to previous levels. I would need more volume before committing funds to this but it is on my watch list.

I don't have a plan so nothing can go wrong !!! http://members.optusnet.com.au/~hershy/
