Just recently Eugenio has been posting Day Trader stock picks, one of them WMT has a EPS of 1.71 and a PE ratio of .17 with a SP of .29c, how can a share have an earning of 1.71 with a SP of .29c. Could someone please help enlighten me a bit on this one. ......cheers

Hi Lylo, I'm not sure where Eugenio got those figures from. In the December 2006 interim report the earnings were reported as -0.25cps. The company has yet to earn a profit since July 1999. If those figures had been correct though the the P/E ratio would have been $0.29/$1.71 = .1695 (~.17) I very much doubt the figures however.

Hi Rudy, sorry for any confusion Eugenio only posted the stock code the figures I got from a Fairfax site Direct Access.com.au it also has the same figure in last months Smart Investor. It just seems good FA's for such a cheap stock, and I don't fully understand the good fundamentals as to good stocks. I seem to think that if a stock starts with good fundamentals it can weather the corrections a bit better. ............cheers
