Ahoy Dear Friar To answer your query to me in the Commodity thread maybe it's a better idea to open a New thread Could you please post those 2 sets of twin/sister ships again? What part of "Everything" do you Not understand ? The first question I will ask you since you see RIO and BHP acting in harmony is Why is the RIO sailing high into the waves while your beloved BHP is struggling to keep her head above water? (Please refer to your own Charts) Sorry to be so brief BUT We have a Cricket match on our hands! I have a sports wager 5-0 Australia for the Ashes Salute and Take Care
NB: The One Who Dies With The Most Money Wins!
"While we stop and think, we often miss our opportunity." Publilius Syrus, 1st century B.C. "I believe the future is only the past again, entered through another gate." Sir Arthur Wing Pinero 1893 "There are two times in a man's life when he should not speculate: When he can't afford it, and when he can." Mark Twain, 1897

Captain BHP and RIO are in perfect harmony What makes you think they are not? Hilarius PS The English are too polite to win in the host country

RIO and BHP are similar but not in perfect harmony. I'd favour RIO over BHP because the H&S is complete and the MAs haven't crossed over as is the case in BHP. If you look at the price you can see with RIO the majority of the last turnover are in profit right now while in BHP the majority are showing a loss. In other words BHP's H&S has not completed and not proven itself . Correction: I don't favour one stock over another. I put my money where I assume the least risk entry to be. That could be breakout or a bounce off. (Message edited by ohkoolnutz on December 16, 2006)

OHK Thank you I am sure you are right in the short term It is just that I am trying to get the Captain to take a long term view Instead he prefers to dally with day trippers

The One Who Dies With The Most Money Wins! On a philosophical note: The happiest people that I encounter in life are seldom the wealthiest (in money terms). All that money can really buy is comfort -- not happiness. (Message edited by colin_twiggs on December 16, 2006)

Rio wins on quality of base metals reserves. BHP wins with uranium and oil exposure. The need for energy which is reliant on commodities that are expended wins in the longer term over commodities which are recyclable. They who give most wins.

Oil is a two edged sword. If it falls so does BHP but not RIO and vice versa. Else they are in joined at the hip. There is one stock that mimics the movement of this duo without the large gaps and whipsaws. This is GMI, a company the invests globally in resources. Together BHP and RIO form a very large part of their investments. Chart one GMI and RIO GMI is BLUE on both charts.
Chart two GMI and BHP
and finally BHP and RIO, BHP is BLUE

I don't have a plan so nothing can go wrong !!! http://members.optusnet.com.au/~hershy/
