G'Day,

I have just started using IncredibleCharts and am very impressed with the software!

One quick question: I am wanting to adjust the price axis scale so that minor price movements (e.g. 0.001 cent) are more obvious. Is there a way of zooming in on the price axis?

For example, when charting the last 6 months data for gda_ax (ASX - Gondwana resources limited)the price axis starts below 0.00 and extends above 0.01 despite the price only fluctuating between 0.003-0.008. Other charting software automatically "zooms in" on the price axis so that only the relevant price range is displayed. I find patterns / trends easier to visualise when this feature is available. I would appreciate any advice!

Thanks!
Liam

Liam,

Incredible Charts automatically fits the price scale to the data -- it's just that you have come up against the lower limit with gda_ax, trading at 0.003 at present.

Regards,
Colin

As a follow up to this question, and the issue of fixed versus flexible price scales, I would like to cast my vote for more flexibility in setting the price scale. If one likes to use trendlines and extend them, the fixed price scale approach is very limiting.

By way of clarification, I was addressing the capability of expanding the price scale at one or both ends within a given time period. I wasn't referring to the ability to change price increments.

Are you looking for the ability to specify an upper and lower price scale limit for a particular stock?
Regards, Colin

Colin:

Yes, I am looking for the ability to specify an upper and lower price boundary or price scale limit. It would also prove helpful if one could have the flexibility to change the actual price scale. Say, with PD (US) and a three month time period, to go to one dollar instead of two dollars, or even .50 cents for finer granularity.
