Hi,
any suggestions for efficiently creating a Yahoo format file.

I am trying to use IC to monitor some managed funds. I have the data in Excel and can produce a CSV output file, but this needs to extensively edited ( i'm using Notepad) to get rid of quotes(") and line breaks, plus inserting a funny square character between each days data. It does work, but all in all, i think there must be a smarter way of doing this!
Help.

Hi Gallifrey,

Please upload an example of the file you create in Excel with your next post.

I'll see whether we can accomodate the " and line-return characters which Excel is using when creating a CSV file.

Thanks,
Robin

Thanks Robin,
I have attached copy of data as produced by Excel i.e. without any manual manipulation.
As this data is from a managed fund, open/high/low/close prices are all the same, and volume is irrelevant.

Gallifrey

Gallifrey,

Thanks for the file.

I've tested it and corrected for the " characters that Excel places in CSV generated files.

The file now loads in our development version which we will release as a test version in the next few days.

Robin
