Incredible Charts do not have a version available for use on Apple MacIntosh. However, we frequently receive correspondence from Mac Users who run Incredible Charts on Virtual PC with varying degrees of success. This conversation thread has been started as a place where Mac users can share their experiences in installing and running Incredible Charts on Virtual PC. Colin

I have a problem on my home computer which is a Mac running Virtual PC. The program loads and runs OK except that I can't see the charts. I have loaded the software onto my work computer (a PC) and it works fine. Do you have any experience with the program running on Virtual PC? K.S.

Hi Colin, is there any way you can call upon the incrediblecharts community to see if there is anyone out thee with Mac knowledge. I have been trying to get your programme to work with an iMac and Virtual PC for about 3 weeks and am having no luck getting the charts to show on the screen. I'm sure someone out there has already addressed this. Please help Many thanks L.H.

Dear Support, I recently discovered Incredible Charts via a friend and was hoping to run it on My Mac 450 Mhz G3 (Blue & White) using virtual PC 5.0. It seems to run nicely, loads its tickers, selects them OK but when the Chart Button (or right-click) is pressed no chart appears, only the name of the ticker and some green numbers from the axis, bottom and RHS). It is possible to do this on online brokers platforms as I have done it. They are for the most part Java programs. Perhaps I have the wrong version of runtime Java or perhaps the wrong version of Active X? As I am chiefly a Mac person I don't know even how to check on which versions of these things are in the PC. Could you help me? I also would like to know if you know it can't be done so I won't spend too much time on it if it isn't going to work at all. It might be as simple as some setting I need to set in Inc Ch itself. Thank You R.R.

As you may/not know, the MacIntosh fraternity, clinging together because noone loves them has a hard time getting charting software of quality. This is why I was so disappointed when after loading the software using Virtual PC and then updating the share tickers, it won't chart BHP, all I get is BHP Billiton.... on a dark navy screen and the date at the bottom which is wrong it says 30 Aug 1999, today is Aug 30 2002 - I also get one huge green candle, that's all. Its not just BHP, it won't chart anything, all else seem to be working OK? Thanks.

Well, on behalf of any Mac users wanting to use Incredible Charts, I answered my own post, you can use Virtual PC and it does work. I updated VPC 5.0 to 5.0.4 using the free update from connectix.com and lo-and-behold the charting problem was fixed. There seemws to be a residual problem in that sometimes a click on the chart makes it go into vertical lines and the indicators go flat - you have to re-chart it. If you set a trendline it seems to prevent this. Happy charting Macists!

Hello ricky, Thanks for the very constructive posting. The residual problem you refer to seems to be related to the calculation of the axes. This probably has to do with CPU architectural differences in the handling of floating-point numbers. Please contact technical support so that we can work through this problem.
