is there a number of trades a day against traded volume ratio or something to its effect to find if there is high quantities of trades and low volumes per trade or low quantities of trades but high volumes bare with me im a newbie to incredible charts and trying to learn as much as possible. and i view the share market as a system of supply and demand and with that this tool would be very useful with the larger companies. cheers diddy

Ahoy Sea-Cadet Didly Squat In the good old days the smart money was considered to have more money Therefore their trade sizes were larger Naturally! Nowadays in these times of Chaos it might be best to throw all rules set in concrete overboard Good reports Fail to capture the imagination of the Sweet Fundamentalist "Market Depths' are flippant! and "In-consistancy reigns" Some have even gone to the point of saying "The world has gone Mad" For me "The Wind Calls the Tune" Salute and Gods' speed
"While we stop and think, we often miss our opportunity." Publilius Syrus, 1st century B.C. "I believe the future is only the past again, entered through another gate." Sir Arthur Wing Pinero 1893 "There are two times in a man's life when he should not speculate: When he can't afford it, and when he can." Mark Twain, 1897

I agree with the Captain these are strange days. Market depth can be shady territory. About the only other thing I can think of which be close to what you are thinking of is VWAP - Volume Weighted Average Price. http://www.investopedia.com/terms/v/vwap.asp It is useful, I have never really used it so I don't know but I will say there is good and bad in all indicators. It helps to know the bad or the weakness of any indicators as well as the good.
