Colin, 5, 10, 20 would be a good start to pick them in a quick time frame. This would be great to pick up on initial movement in the specs that I love to trade. At this rate who needs metastock?? Great site, I love it. Peter

Colin ,... Thanks for your prompt reply....please excuse my delayed responce. Re: Volatility requirements for option , warrant and futures players. Assessing the recent base line volatility of an underlying stock or index, is a critical function for detirming over or underpricing of derivatives available , or writing them yourself. ... This is very handy for comparison with the often inflated implied volatility attached to the derivatives themselves....it is very time consuming to do this individually with Excel. Typically my interest is in time periods of five months, or less. Having the existing 6 and 12 month volatility is great, and if the practical limit is to be three time periods , then a convenient short term measure around 3 months would be highly advantageous , for scanning purposes. Expensive specialist software is available for lesser time durations. Regards, Neil.

Magnificent effort, Colin and team. Only now, beginning to fully appreciate how much can be done with the existing superbly comprehensive indicators available , including the volatility settings. This is good, their inclusion in the initial scanning would be even better.

Hi Any chance of adding a stock selection based on "industry performances"? I think it would be a valuable tool to find out which sectors are moving the fastest and slowest. Keep up the good work. Regards Fritz

My Dear Collin, I use window 95. On the home page when I click 'Securities' and then 'Australia', indices list is dropping, but unfortunately it has not got a scrolling bar. Because of that I am unable to see indices and associated securities beyond 'Diversified Mining'. My window font is set at 'Small'. I think it will scroll if a scrolling frame or bar is provided. It is also good to show the ASX code alongside individual indices. I appreciate that you are doing a great job. Very best wishes and regards. Yours Sincerely, Saba

My Dear Collin, I think I must maention something very importnat. In the stock screen it would be of very great fundamental advantage if you can add yield and price earning ratio also as filtering parameters. This means we would be able to select stocks according to yield and/or price earning ratio in addition to other parameters we may be intersted in. These two parameters are long held as fundamental, and appears in all news paper presentation of daily share prices. Very best wishes and regards. Yours Sincerely, Saba

Colin/Robyn, I'm thinking of using comsec's margin trading, which has an allowed list of about 200 stocks. It would be REALLY handy if this list was available as one of the selectable indexes in the stock screen drop-down list coz then I could screen just those I know I can trade. I'm happy to get (and manage) the data and send it to you in whatever format you like, if you're happy to add it this screen. On the other hand, I could/should possibly use a program like metastock or whatever, but that means money plus money for the data feed, etc, etc. cheers, m.

I noticed that the stock screening was not sorting in ascending order when you uncheck the descending option on the input page. This has been corrected - ascending searches are now working. Robin

Colin The IC documentation is great - a very good learning tool. Can we assume that the filters referred to in http://www.incrediblecharts.com/technical/moving_averages_single.htm (see extract below) are included on what must be a rather large to do list by now? If not may I suggest that they be added. Stater "Filters Filters are used to eliminate uncertain signals. They objectively measure if price has crossed the moving average. Commonly used filters are: Closing Price - either one, two or three closes must cross the Moving Average; Typical price, Median price or Weighted close; The entire bar must cross the MA; Two or three bars (in succession) must cross the MA; or Moving Average Direction "

Would it be possible to add some shorter term periods on the price move section of the stock screen? eg 1 day, 2 day, 5 day? With a number of users appearing to favour buying on dips in uptrends, combining a 9999 days above an MA with a 2 day down dip could help to generate a watch list. (an alternative might be an absolute RSI value eg RSI below 50). Thanks Paolo
