Hi Colin, I love your latest version of Incredible charts Pro but am disappointed that a weekly chart screener has not been included. I like to follow the long term trend and this would be made very much easier if such a programme could be included. I know I have raised this before, andI know you have said that you are working on many other developments. But PLEEEESE do this!!!! Also could you please provide 5 day increments in your moving average screener i.e. 5, 10, 15,20, 25,30 and so on. Many thanks and kind regards, Inkie

Hi Colin I, too, would really value weekly screening ability. I put in a request for this some years ago and would be delighted if it could be incorporated into the 2007 version. Regards May

Hello Colin, I know you have been bombarded with requests. But I am on the verge of reluctantly subscribing to another charting company so I can scan for weekly weinstein/snifter style setups with ease. I do think IC is fantastic, and would love to keep using IC as my sole charting package, if the chance of a weekly scan is on the near horizon. Even if it is only available to IC subscribers. Thankyou

Hey Colin; Wondering where we're at for the next 'big' improvement to IC and/or the subscriber survey? I'm in a similar boat as to the others above, the screener is just not up to the standard that users really need. Everyone tweaks there systems to meet their own trading style etc etc, and thus the ability to better screen for set-ups would make IC so much better. Currently, I cannot justify the cost of another program with this ability nor the yearly data fees, and still prefer the IC platform over all the others I've tried. But this means that currently, I manually search the entire ASX 200 several times per week looking for my set-ups. Good for training the mind, but a rather tiresome process. Looking forward to your updates and thoughts. Keep up the good work either way. Cheers.

Hello Colin, I will take the "no response" as meaning the weekly scanner will not be happening soon. Thanks Biddy

Hi Biddy, I am most disappointed that there has been no response from Colin and seemingly nil has been done. I know I made my initial request over a year ago. I am currently actively investigating other charting packages and price download sites. If you have any info on this please let me know. regards, Ian

Colin has answered this numerous times. The IC wishlist is longer than Santa's. Colin also knows that the only solution to the screener problem is to build a screener API so we can code our own screens. The IC infrastructure and code base may not allow for this to ever happen. I suffer from the same problem. I prefer IC over any other solution but the lack of a screener API will make me dump IC eventually and use another solution. After two years I am tired of "searching" for charts manually. I want to define the search once and have the computer deliver the results with ease. I don't even think the "weekly" screener upgrade should be implemented and is a waste of time. You haven't even defined what a 'week' is. Is a week: a) last Monday to Friday or b) trading days within last 7 rolling days or c) last 5 rolling trading days inc public holidays or d) last 5 rolling trading days exc public holidays I tend to favour option b) in defining a trading week. This is why a screener API is needed. Every persons perception is different and people need to write their own screener to fit their perception.

Thankfully, no one is disputing the superbe accomplishments of the IC team ... and while we all hope Christmas will come earlier every technical year, some things simply have to evolve - they can not be simply plugged-in ... ... or CAN they? I am wondering if there is any reason IC is bound to stick to the current proprietary model? What I am getting at is this ... IC HAS the data feeds, and I would be extremely surprised if the ability did not exist to provide top-shelf screening capabilities quite apart from within the IC model. So ... ... is there a reason a "plug-in" screening package could not be simply acquired / built / purchased / added-on etc to the existing model ... tonight? Well, maybe by tomorrow! There exists an obvious capability (others can do it, and are doing it) but the impediment seems to be that all developments remain within the original and existing model. Why? Why not diversify? If Colin could show his software developers that the lack of a screening facility is hurting business (and I often wonder how many of the more than 175,000 IC members actually convert to paid membership) then surely a case exists to expand to other proprietary plug-n-play screeners? I (for one) would be willing to increase my annual subs to have it.

Hi Ingot54 I have absolutely no problem with the IC programme but sorely miss the weekly screener. I like your thinking about there being some hidden reason as to why this has not been done. If this is the case then Colin should in fact come clean and tell us. We can then make our decisions accordingly. Inkie

Here is where we are at present: Drawing tools 70% complete (still outstanding are % gain trendlines, copy and paste trendlines, treat trend channels as a single object, text boxes, arrows and other chart markers). Next in line is the upgrade of stock screens, then indicators. If you would like us to move stock screens and indicators ahead of the remaining drawing tools, we can do so. I would have to survey existing members to establish that the majority are in agreement. We would upgrade the existing stock screener rather than build a complete new interface with user defined input. The former will take a few months, the latter is our ultimate goal but will take a lot longer. Regards, Colin

Hi Colin and thanks for the reply. I personally are very happy with the drawing tools etc as they are. I would thus appreciate it if you would make the screener the number one hot item on your list with the same time line as you indicated - but something is far, far better nada. Regards, Inkie

Hi Colin Thanks for responding. I really appreciate and enjoy the more sophisticated drawing tools - in particular the Fib.retracement - thanks very much. I have also waited patiently for a few years for a weekly screening facility so my vote would have to be wholeheartedly in favour of doing that as soon as you possibly can. Over time I have trialled a number of different charting packages but never found one that comes anywhere close to IC. It certainly is the very best value for money and offers superb customer service. Thank you to you and your team. Regards May

Greetings to all. What's in a screener? A lot of people can see weakness in IC's abilities in this area and just changing the current framework to a weekly time frame ,while it may be a step ahead, seems a long way from today's realities and possibilities. Not being over familiar with IC's setup and having no idea about numbers or ratios of paying to free clients, it still looks a bit like a club with great connectivity between members, plus great personal and personnel service which is appreciated and respected. However,it is a business, which needs to research and service and respond to its market's needs and invest accordingly,if it can technically and with reasonable speed..from the posts it looks as if there's a gap between IC's priorities, maybe set by a history unknown to me, and what looks like client priorities. As we all know there are some sophisticated screeners around..not free perhaps, but operational and easy to use.To find the "chance" seems to outweigh the need for more tools and indicators and IC seems to have a good array of those. Can we move on the screener? Look at all the IC posts on Weinstein's methods..based on weekly or longer time frames as I understand them. Cheers
