jr before you start yellin...they're gone mate....I know this.

I was trawlin through the delisted site when I spotted One Tel, that telco that dudded the Packer/Murdoch camps for a few bob back in 2001. Well it is becoming quite a novel, lots to read. Last was saying on the 7th March this year that the PwC report was deficient so it is back to the drawing board for ASIC.

Jodee Rich lives another day I guess. Wonder what he is doing now? Maybe he's taken a leaf out of his father's book and is doing charity work. You know his father don't you mate, that is Steven Rich. Real well known mate...was chairman for Traveland Group, Viva Holidays,Beaulieu Group, Studio Pacific, Tasman Pacific, Trans Pacific Corporation, as well as quite a few others.

Yeah jr, he does a lot of work for the Salvos amongst other stuff, he is Deputy Chairman for the Red Shield, has been since the very early seventies.

Maybe Jodee is helping Steven at his printing company.....Focus Publishing .....they do a lot of corporate printing. Have a lot of the Top 500 corporations that they do the printing of glossy stuff. Government stuff as well.

Mate, you remember that company, Imagineering Technology Ltd [IGE] imported those 'brick' phones or something. It went belly up in 1991. That was Jodee Rich as well. Anyhow I found that in the delisted site. Seems like it was taken over by a company called First Pacific Company.

Bye the way, the reason I called the other thread, 'HUG and kiss' was just because a hug goes with a kiss, nothing funny mate, just like putting things together. I know what you were thinking....special message to m'love, nah mate.

Be Cool
OW

What are you looking for on this delisted site, wombat? Is there money to be found?Director checks of current managements? What's there? What's the angle?
I'm actually a bit anti-salvos,strange i realise. They do a great lot of good work like with soldiers, street etc.I just don't like the way they are getting money diverted to them by Howard instead of it going 'secular'.I don't like that trend and the Salvos steering it on a basis of 'But it's the Salvos,ya can't say nothing agin d'Salvos'

well i had a friend[dead now] and he got the heebeejeebes, the Salvos locked him in a room,no medication whatsoever, collected his pension for 6weeks,til he broke out.He never had a good word to say about the Salvos and, well,he was my friend so i don't now either. It's an in Memory deal.

Anyhow, wombat tell me about bio-techs,this tax setup you speak of I know nothing about[after my time ,88 i forgot about tax from then, learnt about antiques instead]so you were in the Bio business, wombat,do you invest in it?Whatdoyaknow?

cheers,
jr

Funny you should say you aren't a major fan of the Salvos, bit that way myself. Have the odd reservation about them. Heard of similar but different. Spoken to the odd ex employee.

Still mate, there are two industries I really worry about .......one of them is charities.....got more to say on charities later.

Oh mate, have you noticed how the art auctions are picking up recently? Specially for 'pretty' pictures.

Regards

wombat,i'm not here to go d'woe is me,even in fury,i smile,it just mightn't hit the eyes that's all[on d'subject as well]
yeah i know about art,but i don't draw.art auctions are a con game but it's not a world i delve in.punters who are selling have too high expectations re price.Art,even at ya leading Auction Houses is valued by the square inch[similar to wall paper],a price achieved by a named artist is always stated with it's measurements,a valuer actually uses that to estimate the price of any other painting by the artist, then dresses it up with chat about shadow/vibrancy/brush stroke technique all that kind of palaver.I'll tell ya anything i know,or at least have an opinion on ,wombat but can ya keep ya self in 'selected' burrows like this? It's a neatness thing,OW,ok?

regards,
jr

Wombat,
you were asking about my personal indicators/time frame/what makes me say'Beauty,i'll take a piece out of that!'
i work only with maths indicator i can do myself.
SMA[what of whatever time period has been paid on the close averaged]I've taken this up to my recent discovery of VWAP.
VWAP,to me is a revelation that has my head shaking on Why didn't i think of that?? so i never said i was a up to date player just that i've done Stock Market since i was a teenager. My father taught me but he was an orphan from an early age so i can't claim generational/genetic breeding.
Average Trading Range-that's another one i use for working out whether a correction is a dump.
Charts-i hand drew them to this year.i stuck to getting trend lines set up and thats about it.
Gaps-naturally i'm BIG on gaps as well as Inside days,i like to watch them both, test theory vs Actuality.

I suppose that's about it,really .I like to watch theory vs actuality.I take that to as many levels as i've life long studied. That is what i'm in the market for, observing theory vs actuality.Money management saves me from 'BELIEVING,i've found Truth',i know there is no truth just abberations/coincidences and not stand up [staunch]conclusions.

I trade in psychology, wombat, that's what i do.To me right/wrong is irrelevant or at least no reason to blow your mind over. You'll never be taken out by the stock market if you just use money management.

On a specific share,OW,POH has me a little breathless,on d'alert. Why? because it could break into a historic all time high.If a share does that and you're on it and it keeps happening? that's fun oh that's like the fun them moslem suicide bombers are promised and you?,ahh you, you're getting a slice of it here on earth,ya share flying through virgin territory.

anyhow,i just thought i'd share me mindspace with ya wombat.
Ya just got to do it on your own.Believe anything could happen, just carry protection like ,well, money management in d'case of shares.

regards,
jr

Thanks for all of that mate. That VWAP is a bit to get the head around but I think I see where you are coming from....I think.

As far as POH is concerned and here I could be quite wrong...don't want to rain on your parade but it was originally one of the two Greenchip Pooled Development companies. The other one eventually morphed into Clinical Cell Technologies CCE. That's the one which cultivates replacement skin for burn victims.....Bali bombing..lots of talk about the good work that was done then. They look like they are just doing a range trade. Anyhow you may be quite right, it may take off. If it does, I would be watching CCE as well.

Money management, yep yep I hear you.

Talking about VWAP, do you know a free, open site that gives you number of shares on issue?

regards
OW

wombat,doing my 7pm[here] check,last for the night.
VWAP is talked about in Market Depth, how it's calculated, other links.OK?
shares on issue is available in Shares magazine,i buy one about every 3 months or so.The share tables in the back relate to some months before,[not current month you buy it],if you want you adapt the figure for recent placements, option exercising, all that rot that i see as significant but i'm told are irrelevant[pretty much]to current thinking on chart reading.we can talk about that later, you'll find a link again in mark depth to my thinking and others debunking.
re POH,it's not one of those tax dodge angles now, right? it also is range bound as well as not earning anything significant.i'm watching for the human tests number 1 results on the morphine cream, suppose to be this quarter, watching just watching,ok.it's just an example of going in to fresh blue sky after a significant period[over 5 years]

check ya tomorra,

You read non fiction,right wombat?
Well that can be applied to the stock market as a trader/investor skill, too.
In a book there is the main plot and all the sub plots that make it interesting.I saw over the last week that it's called themes now in boutique fund jargon,XYZ are good stock pickers and have themes, that's what it said.

Now the main plot in the current market is resources, resouces,ya can't go wrong with them,china/india blah blah blah. What we got to do is work out which sub plot is going to arise to interest the buyers.I say 'we' there as an invitation of course to you[anyone]to do d'checks for and with me.
People have short attention spans, the market grows bored, there's d'Brand New Eureka always waiting in the wings to amaze the hoi polloi-Gosh i never thought of that-they say and it's well moths to the flame.

We gotta think of the next one,Wombat, and i put on the table these Green,Ethicals as just a proposition. You with your Delist site passion could do the infos on d'Dudes running them for a start.
i find i have limited typing time for really long posts so i'll nix out here.
cheers,
jr

One tel, right?just did a google, found all these instiutions/banks/magazines even, devoted to ethical.this,2me, is a good sign, like the infrastructure is in place.
Now i don't care of the mid90's view they[ethicals] are all duds, rip offs.I'm not here to argue that point, wombat.I'm looking for a productive discussion nix some ball scratching contest.
Any alternate, perhaps sector angle, are open for consideration.Green and/or ethical or just the vaguely non threatening is my opening gambit,so to speak. You,wombat, are completely at liberty to go back to your burrow saying 'I don't wanna know'.I won't be offended or nothing,i'll still tap out silly stuff for ya amusement even when i have better things to do.
i'm sheerly asking'So doyawannaPlay?

Fine jr, you want a productive discussion nix ball scratchin.

What I see into the future is a lot more of your average punter having a far greater financial imput into the markets than the 'experts/professionals'.

There is a vast amount of info out there now...stuff that only a professional broker or large investor was privie to a while back.

So what you have to ask yourself is what is the propaganda the punter on the street being fed? Who is doing the feeding? What are they being told?

There is a worldwide interest in the environment..this equals punter interest.

There is a lot of work being done and a ship load of money being shoved into biotech in Australia....I see punter interest which isn't dying down in the biotechs...even from the instos. For instance, a new listing in nano technology ANO had a number of major instos buying into it including Gerry Harvey, OK so Harvey doesn't get the blood racing, Perpetual and my little mate Geoff Wilson per Invia for WAM capital are in it too.

I reckon a lot of punters will look at all sectors with stocks that offer decent dividends. Particularly franked dividends.

There is a whole raft of people out there wanting to fund their retirement as opposed to being a trader cowboy so I don't think you can afford to ignore dividend producing companies. So for all your VWAPs and GEPS etc. You will get your common or garden punter who will say, not bad interest on my capital, I will have some of that. Having said that, I don't think these will be the people to move the markets.

My vote, I will say the Healthcare sector. Plenty of penny dreads, plenty of space for putting a good spin on a product. Also enough real good companies to keep the Index climbing. There are six out of eight companies in the top 100 from the Healthcare sector which are doing real well.

Now mate, don't feel like you have to keep me amused if you have better things to do. I'm used to rejection. It comes with the territory of bein a solitary animal.

excellent, wombat,ya outta your burrow but not thinking you have to keep your back to the wall.
Dividends,ya right, that it an attraction,a very big one,to the public. The problem i see is that ,say a bank, used to pay 7.5%[old franked]when the term rate was about 5%.There's inflation to factor but at that time[the mid90's]Mining Contractors,Hire equipment firms, property developers[like Forrester Parker now FKP]they paid 10% divvie, that much more than a bank and nearly double the Term[like for a year]
With this info historical, you can see a glimmer of the overvalue currently happening...[post this then continue]

...the trouble with dividend stocks is the price dropping consistently[not just post dividend date for a while]
If you hold these types of shares you still HAVE to think of them as trading.you have to watch them go up and trail a stop loss, they'll kill you otherwise, you've lost capital value for the dividends sake. You lose.all this info overload for the average punter will only increase volatility, price fluctuations.
I reckon you have to buy and sell, watch them like a jealous spouse, don't think you've done all this research so you can't be wrong. You'll get HAD[you is of course nix specific, you know its just how i'm talking]

Anyhow,i don't "approve" Oz companies going global,management/board staying in five star+ hotels getting, well i can imagine, lots of Ego plays going on.

Enough for now,i'll have a look at the health sector.hope suemac can do that consumer discrete tonight.Busy after morning tomorrow so i'll hear from ya wombo?
