Dug, hope you don't mind me starting a new section here, I'm away from charts etc at the moment so can't really investigate the companies mentioned. As soon as I've finished the REEs section I'm going to do some work on the sort of companies mentioned ie, those with the potential to export(esp to China)technologies to reduce pollution. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21337469-643,00.html Regards Kate

Kate-No worries. You can set up threads anywhere you like.Ya're not alluding to me being "precious" are ya! Novatech and GHD aren't listed.UCC thru Felix is.I haven't investigated Air Pollution Cleaners. It could be a dumb move to manufacture such products in China if they're patented. Anyhow I have a list of Alternative Companies and I saw this news about Cleaning Up China so,if you want I can join you Live2Air instead of pottering round lone in me room. cheers, jr

Kate- one should keep an eye on TOX if only because it's a reconstructed penny.Think the consolidation was 10 "old" shares into 1"new". This gives instant respectability, takes a number of penny pilgrims off the Register[Volatility reduced]and reduces day trading for 5% out of TOX life. It's recently broke out from a $1.60ish range but all the chart B4 then I feel is distorted because of the Recontr. Anyhow,I'm not sticking charts up til we come up with the few we're maybe interested in.TOX seems to me to currently flying a bear pennant,Up wedge that gives possibilities of Retrace rather than running away from us,then there's the current market so TOX is just 4Watch. SYP is maybe not pure green but it's another alternative.Bamboo is "Good". There's various Institutional Greens like VIR,but I don't like such things.I know you kate sometimes follow the likes of Babcock and Brown but just too spiv for moi. I know your article that started this thread may encourage checking ESI out but I reckon it's a Scam,a variation of d'Orgone Box.Trade it at Peril. Happy Trading.

Dug, I'm finishing off the REES today then will start in this section. Can you organise this section so that it is more logical, eg having a section for renewable energy (then break that down into its relevant parts, biodesiel/ethanol, and then companies that produce products to combat pollution. The oil rig/ drill bit stuff really interesting but needs to go in a separate section. Hope this doesn't offend your artistic nature. Regards Kate

kate, how about we open a thread all on it's own in Long Term.Call it Green Money Makers or something? If IC has a fault,it's the One Hour Only Edit time. One spontaneously comes up with something but you can't edit it out the next day. This proposed thread would have to be thread within thread setup and the occassional readers, not hooked into the Email System, hate those.Little precious so'n'so get all confused. We also have to contend with Long Term being popular with "d'Loners",they who never post other than to bleat about english expression and grammar.Of course, they have the option to turnoff single threads within Sections but they don't,they'd rather get material to seeth by. Anyway, kate you start it when you can,I'll join in. TOX and EVZ I'm looking into at the moment, along with PHK,think they fit as Water Go's. Perhaps we should just start here, sorting out categories, future structure?I see these Enviroment Companies as a Distinct Sector with a Long Term Future. Happy Trading, jr

Categories- Can we just go Energy and have Solar,Wind,Thermal and other cell stuff all into together or do we seperate them out individually? Did you see Quantum last night 8pm ABC? Had this new sliver tech for Solar on it.Old Solar Panels cost 20years of "Free Electricity",these new ones[slivered]only 5 years.A Quarter of d'Old.ORIGIN Energy is financing this Deal. Yesterday, and the last previous few days had GHT a thermal/hot rocker, doing the Rocket.Things are Happening in this Sector,no longer is it the preserve of "UnWashed Tree Huggers"!! I await your thoughts on Lay Out,kate. regards, jr

Dug, Sorry I haven't got back, completely overwhelmed with a load of information. I've asked people to give me anything they find on Alternative energy and all of a sudden there are articles written in every newspaper. It might be a good idea to keep adding to the information here no matter how messy it is then sort it out later. Re TOX, here is something from today's Australian. Might be worth starting a section on Waste management. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21348797-23634,00.html Also very important, but will give you some idea of why I'm keen to persue this area are the BIG changes in Europe. Last night they announced a 20% target for energy from renewable resources - 20%!!!!!!!!! I read somewhere that this will herald a new Industrial age in Europe and will give them a huge technological advantage over the rest of the world. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21356711-2703,00.html Happy reading Kate

Kate, well you know my view of DMX,it has to ditch this secret dolomite angle and explain what's so Fab about Venez[bloody]wailer!! Some coup went on there and it[venuzuala]is probably up for sanctions etc blah but all in all is NOT the place to get a toehold in the Sth American market. I think,or at least Hope that TOX doesn't get involved with DMX.I think it's just a rumour started to try and boost d'DMX share price which we also know is Inflated compared to d'BigBoys buy in. In today's Australian see Margin Call for a big article on Pelican Resources and kindred companies.Archer favours Pelican and I've noticed Archer ain't keen on mainstream publications so would you point this out to him? Anyhow,I'm putting JGL in for d'Comp, there's problems "ethically" with JGL but only minor,so 'chickit out'kate. cheers, jr

Dumping another news article to come back to later. Trying to collect as much background info as possible at this stage. http://www.abc.net.au/science/slab/ozprize99/clean.htm I had a look at DMX and their products, the Dolocrete product appears to work somewhat similarly to PHK, although PHK is much simpler. They also have a new product - Plascon, which can be used for pesticides. All sounds rather exciting to me, with loads of potential. http://www.dolomatrix.com/documents/VA_Announcement.pdf Regards Kate
