It looks all doom and gloom with this stock. Is it because of the exchange rate, since most of the earnings are made overseas? Mads

Hello Mads Either a good time to buy or a good time to sell Interesting to watch for a bounce up from here with good volume ... all will be revealed if there is a green squeeze recovery I suspect the reason for the decline in price is the effect of the DOW takeover Always a worry with PBL and NWS for me was/is the share price after a powerful CEO dies At least Rupert looks like he might die on the job (as they say) With Best Wishes Hilarius
I come in peace to share my thoughts and to shine my candle light on possible long term opportunities

Hilarius, Judging by the MMA chart and the TMF shown below, it certainly looks not a good time to buy. Historically, the NWS price suffers when the US/AUS exchange rate is in OZ favour (like now). NWS was included in the index recently (June 15 I think) and I would have thought there would have been a bit of realignment and buying by funds. The DOW takeover would definitely have something to do with the weakness but the drop in the price has been very very dramatic. Must be more to it than meets the eye. I'll wait until the MMA looks more positive before entering the stock.

NWS has turned around from the doom and gloom we spoke about the last 2 days (see above)to around 2% increase in price. Nothing has much changed (that I can see) and there have not been any major announcements, other than executives exercising options. Can anybody throw any light on this price turnaround? Did we miss anything? Is it likely that the price was manipulated (can't think of a different word) down so that the executives could exercise their options, hence a possible lower tax effect(beneficial to the execs, of course)? RE: NWS After a severe decline like this a useful techneque like this one can come in handy --- it mainly used after a stock has suffered a trend change from UP to DN (like NWS)and not in the examples given which are only counter trends within a UP. You looking for 3 consecative High Lows with Higher Highs in the counter trends -- not just 3 higher bars .-- also naturally take note of relative Volume around these swings . -------------------------------------------------------- though not essential in this method --Also take note of the GAP from High to Low -- very Bullish -- not many stocks do this . --------------------------------------------------------- If you check out May14 to June8 -- it was making higher highs but then the last of the Lows blows it -- and beside the Lows had higher relative volume -- something was amiss ----------------------------------------------------------

The "Sea of Uncertainty" is defeated by the nimble vessel "Probability", not the unwieldy vessel "Prediction".
