The market giveth and the market taked. There was a titanic battle at 41.20-41.30. Someone was dead set wanting to get out... not a good sign for those who intent to hold for long term. If 40.85 fails tomorrow, I am expecting more rushing to the door. I will be among them. (Sold what I bought earlier at a loss at 41.60 reason why I bought was because I sold some yesterday at 42.30... and I am not enjoying this bit of confession, gotta say).

BHP 3-day
1) the real support is at 40.00! 2) judging from the negative responses coming from China and Japan with the T/O, I think the chance of BHP winning this game is quite remote. The political pressure coming from these two countries, who also happened to be two of Australia's biggest customers, will be tremendous - on both the govt as well as on BHP. ...however, I believe BHP will not be giving up this t/o and walk away empty handed - something will be given as a compromise... possibly a long term contract in very favourable terms to BHP (my speculation here!). Anyway, to cut it short, if the plan were to be called off, I would expect the share price to bounce from here... worth a punt, I think. ps: as for RIO... just wait for the drop if the T/O were to be withdrawn.

Copper Futures Weekly
1) the 2.50-2.60 range is a very likely target short to mid term... what will be the impact on BHP's bottom line at this price range?

HC Another way of looking at BHP (if you agree with the Weinstein swing target model). The intervals appear to be about $7.
