does anybody know where i can obtain historic data
for GPD and interest rate for Australia for last 50 years or as far back as possible.

i have find the above link also useful.

the reason i am interest in the above data is i am finding to compare the troughs of GDP and bottom market and the peaks of umemployment.

If GDP trough is going to be in second half of 09 or early 2010 than teh stock market likely to bottom ? middle of next year.

My current strategies is do cover calls over BHP / Banks.
But I am looking to average in over next 6 months.
Averaging ins in near market lows can be very profitable.
Stick Large caps / no leverage. Solid companies.

Any comments on the above strategies.
