can't believe I don't have a thread for this, so here it is.

The latest daily chart.
pbg

1) just in case you are not aware, last night's market was a "consumer discretionary" market where close to 3 billions of the total 6 billions worth of transactions were spent on buying stocks that sell/make stuffs/goodies for the festive seasons; the "smart investors" are positioning themselves for a bonanza and big consumer spending this coming Xmas...

2) PBG (I think) probably is inside this group of stocks but for some reason, it is perceived by the market watchers as either over priced or under-achieved. Don't ask me why because I don't know why either;

3) I do have this observation though - whilst the market likes to sell this stock when the price moves up a few cents, the "insiders", aka the few company directors are quite willing to buy them with their own money and pile on to their holdings - go check it up;

4) So here is the thinking - either the market is wrong about this company or the directors are wrong about this company - they can't be both right - and I have chosen side in this argument - I am with the directors because I think they know what they are doing...

5)... and I am willing to bet they all wear BOND underwears, Holeproof socks and yes, KingGee when doing some hard yakka. What else? :-)

PBG Daily
pbg

1) three red candles in a row, I got out in the first after it recovered somewhat in the middle of the day;

2) this stock is showing something quite puzzling, it is being collected by quite some funds and yet it is being sold down - it seems it is being perceived quite differently by different funds... when the time comes, this one is worth a punt.

Dr,

Yes. By all means. :-)

On FCL, it's good to watch but I won't touch. FYI, it is the volume topper today - 202,787,863 shares, $405.8mil done thus far! AWB sold out its stake completely for a profit 45mil if I remember it right.

Not sure if this is appropriate, but the chart has shown a somewhat big island which makes the price hard to "swim" back to the island due to the gap.

Cheers.

Hey you two, don't you start to run down PBG I own shares in that company and I will be really unimpressed. It may cause me to stop talking to you. Mind you I am a very forgiving person so if you feel you need to manipulate the market for whatever reason, who am I to stand in your way!!!

Knock yourselves out!

Love
Ann

Ann,

Sorry, didn't know you have this one.

PBG Daily
pbg

1) in last 4 candles, the buyers took out all the selling at 3.06 and 3.07, indicating there is at least someone who is quite keen to own PBG. The most telling sign is the very long legged candle about 4 days ago - somebody couldn't care less but just wanted out!

2) the previous low was 3.02 which "normally" would mean many traders who hold PBG would set their "cut loss" points around, say a few points below - so if there were to be a shake out, it will happen at around here.

3) if I still have this stock, I will watch for shake out at around 3.00 but I will set my cut loss at 2.97 which is 3 points below 3.00 and 4 points on top of my entry level of 2.93 which would probably let me off with a break even. (assuming many others are reading this and are attempting the same thing then this may not work, so watch the depth of sellers at these levels on a day where you feel the selling is severe)

4) the plus side in this stock is at least two separate funds have been accumulating this stock, so, it doesn't come across to be a "game over" case.

Cheers, good luck and have a good day.

Thank you HC,

I think you were trying to make me feel better, I don't know that you did but as I buy for the long term, very long term I live with these seasonal dips and troughs. I guess I look for what I regard as 'real' companies who pay a dividend and over the long term I believe these companies will recover any losses incurred when the 'dills' are playing with the prices over the low trading season.

I just don't get upset, it isn't worth it. I just bought SUL only to find the following day it dropped like a dead donkey. Tough! I have been around the block too many times to be afraid. Fear, over reaction and greed seem to be some of mankind's worst enemies. I will just maintain my patience. All of the good companies which are doing well at the moment have had hard times. Just like life really!

Ringo, what is SNM, I could only find SMN did you transcribe the letters? Oops sorry, another of those naughty one liners with Hershy. Slap my wrist!

Sorry to hear your face is hurting, is it your toothache?
Looking foreward to your song request when you are feeling better.

Love
Ann

SUL did not repeat not drop like a dead donkey.is this what they teach at your E.Melb "SCHOOL",ann?
you're suppose to say a buying opportunity arose just after you purchased at what was then a VERY reasonable price that just got better the next day,and thenyou assure readers[whoever they may be]that you are really serious about buying MORE because, well SUPER CHEAP should be held by any sophisticated investor and only dills and newbies don't.

ohh ann did you see that sabre teeth are back.try to follow their technique, after all you can actually buy RAMPS at SUPER CHEAP.
Stay with it will ya?
DEAD DONKEY indeed.is that some beastiality perversion you picked up by chance?
ps-did you see in confident life thread a 'possible'meaning of ringo?don't go getting tight with H,ann he might induce you to do your act reprize[gentle readers-ann seems to be the east melb. stripper entertainment on 'festive'occassions],
i've still got that photo inducement,ok?

edit-i'm not chucking a cow, right HC?you do excellent true assessments to the best of your abilities and they're much more pertinent and insightful than mine.looking forward to an issue we can disagree on.end of matter.

Ringo, oh dear I really am not getting it right am I? What I should have said about SUL was as so often happens to me, as soon as I buy a stock, immediately after, there seems to be an excellent buying opportunity for anyone smart enough NOT to have bought around the time I did!! There you go, perhaps I could let everyone know when and what I am going to buy and all the smart money could then get ready for a short!! As far as buying more when the price falls, that is something I don't do for two reasons. The first is I have a budgeted position on stocks I hold. The second reason is that I don't like averaging down. As I said I buy 'real' stocks for the long term, so a drop in the price is merely an irritation.

I would have bought SUL sooner, I just totally missed it until you brought it to my attention. It fits my definition of a 'real' stock.
It is one of the few types of retail outlets that can 'grab' money willingly from blokes, especially the young ones with all that lovely disposable income.

I didn't know ST was back, personally I am delighted but I wonder how the rest of the forum members will cope? I will do a search shortly and check out what he has to offer. Apart from a couple of less successful choices, I thought he was very good. Not as good as you of course but well, bias will out.

Goodness gracious Ringo you ARE cheeky suggesting unusual partner preferences and exotic dancing....I keep telling you .....middle aged, mumsie figure, looking to do some volunteer work, holding newborn babies who have had mum's with drug addiction problems. Nah, I am just not your exciting type...sorry to disappoint. The only excitement in my life is talking to you!

I thought I would wait until you explained the reason for your name clearly, I am likely to misunderstand you if I guess at stuff. I promise I won't get 'tight' with Hershy. In fact I probably won't drink at all on the Christmas get together, I rarely drink these days so it goes straight to my head and I will be driving.

Love
Ann

Went to Myers, wanted to buy King Gee pants[I lay round a lot on the floor, need hard wearing pants]Anyway the Ladies who pass for shop assistants at myers sniffed at me that THEY didn't sell 'Work Wear'and I should go to Lowes.I didn't want to go down the low end of the shopping centre so I bought these other pure cotton drill pants and had to pass on King Gee at Australia's second biggest department store[even I knew DJ's wouldn't stock King Gee] but i would have reckoned Myers would have but no just the Chinese made equivalent with better tailoring actually.

Ann and Holy, other than the trying not too hard attitude of Myers and their archaic staffing approach, what do you think this shows about Pac Brands and their marketing?

If I add that pac o is also paying that yankee dill with some kind of creature on his head instead of hair[Don Trump] to sell holeproof socks in ads, does this cause some glimmer of concern?
I know Venture Capitalism may be exciting and profitable but do you think 'THEY' may also be just a little too optomistic in their endeavours and that a Blind Side play maybe going down?Like is there an insatialble demand for new underpants and socks and work wear of the Name Brand kind?Australia Made?
Me?I've got to buy /get installed one of them Super petrol converters for my 84 Volvo, wonder where I could get one Cheap?
like SUPER CHEAP.
Remember fancy lingerie is not Pac Brands,it's Boutique by Kylie or tiger lily even by Delta.Pac Brands is not top end of the market for such fripparies.but before i reveal i don't wear underpants best wind it up.
cheers,
jr
