Author Message  holycow Member Username: holycow Post Number: 924 Registered: 08-2004 Rating: N/A Votes: 0 Friday, March 11, 2005 - 09:34 am:     TAH Daily 1) if you are still holding TAH you may want to look into taking some profit... 2) there were 3 sell signals - a) MACD crossing; b) sp crossing short term MA; c) crossing of the st/mt MA; 3) looking at the MACD histogram - it's completely under water in the last 3 months; the RSI gone under water in the last month or so - these don't give me a bullish outlook of this stock at the moment and into the short term future; 4) so if you still are in profit, it's safer to take some off the table - cash is good man! 5) of course as usual, the sp may just jump at this point and make all the above observations totally irrelevant HC "... if you've got a chart, I have an opinion!"  ann Member Username: ann Post Number: 352 Registered: 04-2004 Rating: N/A Votes: 0 Friday, March 11, 2005 - 12:17 pm:     Hi HC had a little look at this one, of course you may be right about taking some profit off the table. However I can see reasons for the slow down in price. On the 9/12/04 they sold some of their gaming businesses to Unitab, then on the 22/12/04 they announced a US$700 placement in the USA to fund the acquitition of TAB Ltd NSW. Then on the 16/02/05 they announced a bid for Singapores integrated resort project. By this time I think there was information overload and everyone thought 'outa here sweetheart'!! Then if all of that wasn't enough on the 24/02/05 they brought out their half year report, saying how well they had done and the Interim divie is 40c up from the September final divie of 36c. 'You beauty' say the scalpers....company goes ex divie on the 1/03/05. 'Lets rip the price down and get a bargain'. Then, would you believe it....whoopsie!!!! On the 2/03/05 they announced someone stuffed up the figures slightly in their Half Yearly.....course I think it is only now people have noticed and woosh, down goes the price......in the greater scheme of things, the error is only petty cash to them but more than enough to frighten the horses! Doncha just love the market!!! A thrill a minute. With the US dollar going down does that mean the debt will diminish over time????? Comments from an accountant type of person would be interesting. Cheers Ann  holycow Member Username: holycow Post Number: 925 Registered: 08-2004 Rating: N/A Votes: 0 Friday, March 11, 2005 - 01:25 pm:     Ann, Base on your description of the background reason of the slight decline of TAH, I would made this assumption - if TAH SP were to continue dropping and if it were to drop below the long term MA (the greenline), then I believe the cause is either someone big holders have been very skillfully taking their profit or it's decline is more than what we know. If I were to hold this stock and after I have taken some profits off the table, I will use the long term MA as the last bastion - if it fails to hold the fort, it's a bye bye alligator for me. That's the way I feel about the stock market. Other wise it could be a living hell. If your long term moving average is your cut off line and you act on it, then you are probably a lot more disciplined and experienced than the majority. Cheers Ann
