for the sake of our record and the Ashes glory, please kindly recommend any or all of the following...

1) a rain dance specialist - to call upon the elements so that only localised rain will be falling continuously in this address only - Nottingham, UK; please reply with email asap;

2) a voodoo magician - to cast some serious spell on the Pommy bowlers so they will have wobbly legs; or, weak arms; do it anytime at your pleasure. And mine.

3) a wizard or witch to impose a silencing curse on the UK media in general - make them go speechless, I mean real quiet in the next few days so I don't have to put up with them bragging... this too can be done at your leisure. Australia, no, I mean only I and a few of my buddies owe you one - we need a break badly.

THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU...

HC,

As much as I hate to admit it, I think the Ausie Cricket team has been in an extended stage 2 uptrend, has topped out in a stage 3, and now looks like a stage 4 beginning.

Whether this is just a short term "correction", or a stage 4 I guess only time will tell.

Everything in life is cyclical.

Where's Rederob when we need him?

With all the stray lead flying around, once this match bites the dust, there should be a serious drawdown on lead warehousing.

C'mon, Rob - gimme a price!

ingot
yes, there is lead in the OZ team's legs, arms and bats as well - plus i noticed a massive drawdown on the LME overnight - another base metal on the up!
i have not been despairing
got Warnie on the blower last night and he said he had let his fingers do the talking - again!!!
"redders", he said, "i have texted a few of my playmates to hook onto the pommie team overnight. they promised me these guys will be so shagged by today that their knees won't stop trembling. i've aslo called me favourite bookmaker and put us down for a win, plus me for the elusive ton".
ya gotta trust a true blonde, eh?

As always, I am in stitches, Rob. You should use your trading base to get yourself into TV comedy roles - you would easily have the bladder resources to put out any fires on current excuses for comedy!

So England is "playing within the rules" says Justin (Langer). Justing is using a euphemism.

Well, I think I am a good sport. Simon Jones "returned from hospital wearing a foot brace".

I don't think the injury to Simon's foot is as bad as the injury to his integrity, or England's coaching ... but that is just my reaction to not having my prayers answered .. (again)!!

But, in balance, there was a certain series, I think it was called the "bodyline" or something ... and Trevor Chappell ... and ... oh what the heck. Pad up, and let's play the game, and see how it pans out.

Enter at mid-field retracement, put a stop at square leg, and hope for a strong rally. Look out for false breaks, and hope that the week ends on a high!

I am feeling more pessimistic today comparing with yesterday... I think the trouble is in our batsmen being unable to "read" the English bowlers and they are losing their confidence! Damn!

On the other hand our bowlers are not doing a good job either... sobs!

First we lost to the BOKS, then we lost to the KIWI, now we are close to losing to the POMS! What's next?

... we even lost to the Bangladeshi once! $#%$&*&%^*&!

Obviously someone has confiscated Warnie's Motorola!

warne

Shane Warne ripped out England's top order to leave Australia with the upper hand despite a fine 129 from Andrew Strauss on an absorbing first day of the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval in London.

Warne, who induced a string of errors from the home batsmen to leave England on 7 for 319, completed figures of 5 for 118 from 34 overs to raise his tally to 33 wickets in the series.

I heard an authoritative piece on ABC radio this morning that Ponting would be subject to a leadership challenge from a well known all-rounder.
Apparently Kim Beazley is prepared to put himself to another challenge!

Gerald Tooth: Like every young Australian boy you did want to play cricket for Australia, but you’re described as a very erratic fast bowler.

Kim Beazley: I wasn’t all that erratic, I wasn’t all that fast either, it all boils down to it. I played a bit of grade cricket and a bit of underage cricket and I also used to bowl for the school. I was ok, that’s about the best you’d say for that. I also played a bit when I was working on a friend’s farm, I played a bit of country cricket from time to time, that was really good fun, I enjoyed that. I remember once we were playing on a malthoid wicket, sort of time to time you did play on a malthoid wicket with a covering and gee it was fast. And they put me in to open the batting and there was this tall and thickset Aboriginal bloke, you don’t often meet tall and thickset Aboriginal blokes, but he bowled in bare feet and he came pounding in, and he was fast and erratic. He was really fast, and we worked out that you could run a bye by the time the keeper had, you know so far back had got to it if you were fast and you scampered quick enough. We had an opening partnership of 60 and I remember being applauded out after I was dismissed and people thought I’d made a lot of runs, I had in fact made 2 off the bat in that 60 partnership

Yep ... looks like a contender
