Seems our discretion section went missing and Msparks,thommo78, I'm too, well,d'soul of discretion to ask for it back.
Anyway AWB broke yesterday up to the 50EMA with the 150 and 200 at $4.62/69 respectively.Either of you getting on it?I won't bit, busy for screen watching this fornight but I reckon it[AWB] could be a Go.

Reminds me of CAZ a bit, win if they keep the desk, lose if they don't.

Maybe at its bottom but without the single desk where will it be ?

Need to research more on where this is up to with Govt and court decisions.

From the discussion with you and thommo78 [in d'Lost Wisdom],msparks I don't reckon the single desk is for the Chop.
Thommo's description of the contenders didn't inspire me that they had the nouse to make a fist of it BUT AWB could get the cane from the Cole Enquiry, carry the can as they say,so it may well be right to let this great buying opportunity[cfd wise] go by.

cheers.

What happens if the finding is, AWB is absolved of any quilt because they are not aware of the deceptions of the former regime of Iraq? This finding is to the benefit of the ministers, officials and AWB and is the best outcome except for the opposition and AWB's competitors. This finding also protects the image of Australia. It may not be the true situation but then can anyone tell me when business is a straight forward affair. The other likely outcome is a tap on the knuckles of AWB for being careless and not investigating the deal before entering into it.Thus the outcome of the break out?

Will it be likely in the near future that AWB be merged with another entity so that the single desk be preserved?

Please do not considered as advice as I do not know individual circumstances but from an investor or trader point of view is, when in doubt clear out, to protect one's capital. It may be like CAZ situation, however AWB's price could have factored a lot of the bad news in it already. However if the news are not favourable, AWB may drift further down.Charts are useful if used with other analysis. You will find that on many occasions that a big shareholder sells down when the price is rising. After that, the price starts to drift down.

Hi peter,
Interesting idea,AWB doing some takeover/merger in the future with say Grainco or ABA.Probably a lot of cross-over Grain Grower shareholders.
In this Go's for a month there's a Discretion thread and in that, one on AAV.
Half way down the AAV thread it turned into a wheat/AWB discussion.[Really complicated way to find it,hey?]
Anyway member Thommo78 joined me and MSparks in discussion.Thommo78 seems to be a Ag Products Futures Desk 'consultant' and third generation family wheat grower so he's got some clues on this subject so you may want to read them in AAV,Peter?

Anyway,I think AWB is way more "Respectable" than CAZ but I'm thinking the main problem will be Future Contracts.

Every time they beat say the Yanks in the Middle East Market, their competition will mutter Corruption blah, etc.
They[AWB] will also be approached by corrupt, local officials all the time, like'you've done it before so I'm cheaper' sort of thing
and of course every new Iraq gov't official will be very wary of doing business with AWB and it'll be all very messy.

One wonders what the scream would have been if AWB HADN'T sold Iraq the wheat in the 'corrupt' circumstances.
What Proof do you have?Is it good enough to let women and kiddies Starve? the critics would rave.

Anyway, off to do measuring.Hope thommo and Msparks come to chat with you,Peter.Get some AWB concepts continuing without me.
regards.

Dug,

The different between CAZ and AWB,AWB has factored in a lot of the problems whereas in CAZ's situation, it was more like euphoria, high expectations, therefore factored in on the high side.

Without entering into any debate,I was asked asked what I would do if I am in such a situation, I always maintain that from an investment and trading point of view, I would in most situation, when in doubt, clear out instead of taking a position. To be able to appreciate the actual position, one is in, we have to consider the needs and objectives of the holder of the shares and their current situation without which, it is difficult to analyse the actual situation.
