G'day eblode I'll pick up my copy of the Melbourne Herald Sun tomorrow morning. Thanks for the update as a post. I beginning to wonder why there is not more interest in this thread. Here we have a guy (Darryl Morley) who publishes all his results (which are impressive, in my opinion) and we don't have a single post other than yours on the thread. Not a single query or comment! Does the forum need a defibrillator? Could it be that most people have no need of this style of trading and the commensurate returns? Have they all sold in May and ......... Are most people doing better than this guy? Or are we all beavering away privately at our desks trying to work out his methodology? Perhaps the threads location under General is the problem. I think it would be better placed under Trading Systems or Stocks ASX - Short Term: (strictly TA). What do you think? With your agreement perhaps Colin could move it to another area? Regardless, I'll try to put up a post tomorrow. Thanks for starting it. Hope we see more participation soon. 888

I'd certainly be more interested in the 'Day Trader' if I could read the column on Wednesday mornings - but alas, not even i/net access. Darryl has a web site : http://thedaytrader.com.au/Day%20Trader%20Home.html but there's nothing on it.

888, For years I have wondered the same thing. The guy gives the mug in the street the greatest format to follow and hardly anyone on this thread is that interested. Suits me. I'm making profits with some of his buys. This year alone I bought AGM,ESG,RMS and I'm laughing. But for the mug who knows nothing about the market he could of cleaned up just following DAYTRADER and doing nothing else. The guy has doubled his money in 9 months. Anyone out there that has done better?? Eugenio

G'day zorba and eblode Yep zorba. Checked out the website soon after eblode mentioned Darryl. Darry publishes on Wednesday of each week in the Herald Sun but the info in his column is only current to the previous Friday. That can't be a lag between submission of copy and printing so I suspect the lag is to get around the laws relating to handing out financial advice. Common to Darryl's holdings I currently maintain holdings in AGM, SDL as well as a positions in ROY and VRE still. While ever these are not the best returns I maintain in either $ or % terms, they are considerable. These positions or holdings were not entered because of or necessarily after Darryl mentioned them. His stockpicking interests me but his management of risk and exits are what I would like to investigate further as time permits. Ive set up a project and watchlist named DAYTRADER and am recording his positions, entries, targets and exits for further investigation. Over the years of the forum that I have been involved there have been many requests from contributors about how much money can you make from trading. We're often regaled with the idea that buy, hold (and pray) is the best methodology. Now I would never ask anyone their personal business but the proof is being published every week, for those interested, of the returns possible from trading. I suspect we will be deafened by the silence of the replies to you last question, eblode. Will try to post tomorrow again. We're having Pees for dinner. Pasta, pesto, pinenuts, proscuitto and parmigiano. Something quick before the footy starts. 888

Eblode, and macca888, just to prove you wrong - I've doubled (108%) since the low in September, on each of 2 completely different systems and portfolios, short term and medium term. Regards, Ken

G'day ken Nope. You haven't proved me wrong but you have provided another confirmation of the possible returns from astute trading. I know you "work" at it ken by the lack of your posts in more recent times. I'm just happy to hear of what I see as another successful trader. All the best 888

I get the herald sun everyday but I must confess that I dont read Daryl's article. It wasnt that I have any specific reason not to. But boiling down to it, I'm just not as enthused as some others. I remember back in 94, I met a guy who religiously followed his articles and would often talked about them when we met, so for about 3 months back in 94, I did make an attempt to follow his articles. What I found was that while he put up in buys and sells every week. He didn't always explain his decisions. Sometimes he would talk about his reasons, often he didnt. But if you had read it long enough, you kind of worked it out for yourself his sell criteria, but his buy criteria was a totally different story. I dont know if things has changed now. But that was how it was for me back then. I guess when it comes down to it. I am more interested in my own system, my own rules than his. And I have no interest in tips. My return is comparable to his, but that is probably because of a raging bull market, I have no illusion there. But honestly, How much is enough?
