Hi All,
A quick survey to test the response to this question.
Do you think trading is gambling?

I am talking about short-term trades ie day trades up to say a week or so.
I will make two additional posts one for yes and one for no, just click the vote button on the appropriate page to show your response.(dont care about stars)
cheers

Not a lot off response to your question Max. Pretty open question. You have professionals then you have the so called punters!!? A person who doesn't follow the markets much but just takes a tip or two from a mate or friend and doesn't follow through or has no idea of what to look for could be called a gambler perhaps a hopeful like a lotto buyer. However one who does follow the market and are extremely experienced has all the tools etc etc and especially in a volatile market the hours and time they put in could hardly be called a punter or gambler. (And if consistently makes a profit)Like all if you believe in the company with well earned profits, success then your part of that company Hence is running your own business a punt? Equity trading or whatever is like a franchise, we must look at all angles not just TA or FA but be involved, we all have that right whether long term or just a few days.
I have the feeling many people have confronted you saying that short term or trading the market is gambling.
