My daughter is going trekking from Thailand to Cambodia towards the end of this year, I would also be interested in experiences shared

G'day Stickman. You'll enjoy Cambodia. I was through there a couple of years ago. I didn't go to the Pol Pot exhibition - I decided I could save myself that trauma. If you are travelling with children, best to use the resources of a good travel agent and get up to date listed accommodation to suit your budget. In Siem Reap the better hotels have reliable tours of Angkor and advice on current entry fees and charges. The street market is safe and interesting. When you are in Phnom Penh ask for the location of one of the restaurants that train street kids in cooking and service. They do a tremendous job and the food is great. Have a ball! For anyone else with the travel bug I can recommend Patagonia. I am just back from trekking 100km or so in the Andes foothills and glaciers of southern Argentina and Chile. The scenery is an absolute eye opener and the trip is a wonderful introduction to the old Spanish colonial legacy in modern countries. Great people, wine and food to kill for and as much exercise as you want.
