Query received from reader VS:
If half the shares are in the red and half in the black, and the market price is eequal to $50,000 more than originallly invested, will I have to pay Cap.Gains Tax on that $50, always assuming I can sell at this point. and assume no other ccapital losses. I cant seem to get it out of the broker wh0 says hold, or the accnt. who is too busy. There would be other earnings, but I have a lot of previous tax losss. so dont expect any further tax to be payable.
