I'll take a couple of pastis now, actually my wife and I have just gone through a wonderful Nero/Cabernet from Sicily.

I have never been so scared on what ended up a profitable trade. The AUDUSD showing weakness this afternoon was the trigger for my exit.

I sometimes have a big loss after a big win

I hope this doesn't happen to you

Take Care might be bad advice

Take a Calculated Risk might be better

I find it hard to stay in a trade which goes against me

How do you control your risk when that happens?

I take each position with the view that the market may go against me four times the largest drawdown my system backtesting has demonstrated. This trade went 1.5 times the largest previous drawdown before turning up.

Add system diversity to that and it would take a lot to put me out of business.

It makes me nervous just thinking about it :-)

I guess that is the difference that makes some people good traders ... the ability to balance risk and reward

I am contrained by fear that the trade might go rapidly against me with no ability to recover

Hence my stops are too tight and I am frequently whipsawed out of profits

Not sure if my nerves could cope with more risk :-)

I've had a 10 Day bronchitis which has sapped my energy a little ... also I've been developing some other market monitoring tools such as the Fear and Fundamentals Index and a Big Miners Chart

There will be an update covering 2 weeks of changes in the Glad Tidings Portfolios at the end of this week
