Nightstalker I am shocked that those dedicated high bank officials are not publicly offering their advice to online users Surely the boards of banks are dedicated to honesty and integrity in their dealing with us mortals? Have you considered offering them a trans-rectal tonsillectomy if they don't give the customers the benefit of their wisdom? Hilarius (always a bit more mischievous before bed-time)

You p**sed as well Bro H.? Mother Superior left the keys to the cellar on the kitchen table again? Heheh - posting in the wrong thread indeed Hope you had a good sleep and that the monasterial hangover is not too bad this merry morning. Good to see Shawky has kept the Hall of Fame named after its founder too. A great idea and one that is still being followed with great interest. Bro Shawky - could you perhaps post each member's list of ten stocks, say, once a month, so that we can all benefit from seeing who is running the hot ones? The lists are fairly fluid with changes being made by many (not all, I know) and taking note of what stocks people are running can also be very educational. If that is a lot of work, don't worry about it, but if the lists are easy to copy-and-paste then I for one would be very interested in them. Thanks mate

Hilarius My I make a simple suggestion? If you run a similar bank balance to mine, you won't give a **** (i.e. waste product of a trans-rectal tonsillectomy) what the banks do with it. The answer is simple, if your account balance is in the black, fix it...I like red, with that nice big minus sign in front. Rederob Gotta watch them there bandicoots. Could be worse, you could have Nightstalker coming up your rear! Nightstalker There is no way I'm letting you and that medico gadget get any closer to me, I'll just have to jump into the lead somehow. I'll have to check my auto stops for last week and see if any actually got hit - I've been slack and just did the data update this week. Looks like a few of my stocks are rubbing up against my profit stops. regards Shawky

Morning Bro Shawky I found my bit of paper at work with my list of ten - and I didn't have either ALL or SNN on there. But I did have a couple of others that need to be changed, if you could please. Sell SLT @ 0.52 and Buy BSA @ 0.44 Sell HPX @ 1.79 and Buy PDN @ 0.51 Many thanks oh keeper of the spreadsheet. Any thoughts on that suggestion above re posting everybody's current lists of ten, say, monthly? Could learn from those - I tend to forget my own, let alone everybody else's! If it's tricky, don't worry, but if it's just a copy-and-paste job, then that would be useful. And the trans-rectal tonsillectomy instrument hasn't been christened yet - I'm waiting for someone to insult me first, then REVENGE is mine...... Actually - it lends a whole new meaning to the line in my sig... heheh (Message edited by nightstalker on October 20, 2004)

Surely SLT sold yesterday (19th) and BSA also bought yesterday. HPX sold day before (18th) and PDN bought last Friday 15th My sell order for HPX was actually placed on Friday, but missed out by 1 cent, being fulfilled on Monday.

Hi NightStalker, I thought that we were restricted to buy/sell as at Friday's close for this exercise. Do you have a cash position, or are you using the yet to be advised Hilarious Bridging Finance Loan facility that allows you to buy a replacement share before selling an existing share? Cheers, Mosaic

Hmm - I didn't realize that the Friday thing was a restriction, just a suggestion for those trading paper portfolios. Mine are all real holdings, and those dates are when the trades occurred. They can be adjusted to last Friday if you wish, but you'll need to look up the prices - say Friday's closes. I'm at work at the moment - I can look it up tonight if you want. And yes - I maintain a cash position of about 10% most of the time, to allow me to take advantage of opportunities without having to sell off something else at a less-than-optimal price. Mosaic It does appear that you are intent to be Nightstalker's first victim of the trans-rectal tonsillectomy instrument. The intent was that new trades be opened on the Friday close and it is up to the individual to be honest regarding their buy/sells. I don't consider this to be a hard and fast rule, twas merely suggested to limit trading activity to a manageable level. I'm flexible in this regard and rely on everyone's honesty, so am happy even if one picked up a stock over 3 days with an average price (due to liquidity). I have checked my portfolio and found that a number of stops were hit last week and were not included in the chart posted yesterday. I will have to review the intraday charts to determine at what prices I achieved for them. My stops are automatic stops in CMC. I will update and post mine this weekend inclusive of replacement stocks on the close. I too am interested in how one purchases 10k of speculative stock when liquidity is an issue. But far be it for me to transgress the dangers of trans-rectal tonsillectomies. regards Shawky

Mosaic - since you seem intent on trying to prove something or other, I can tell you that my 50,000 was made up of about 4 parcels, ranging from Thursday 14th and completed on Fri 15th in the morning. I can't tell you which of those ones you posted was the parcel that completed my purchase. The purchase was done through ComSec, and I was emailed on Friday that the transaction was complete at $0.51 for a total of 50,000 shares. That makes the completed transaction Friday in my portfolio manager software. Not quite sure what you're trying to prove though. I could have said I'd got into PDN at 7 cents, but that wouldn't have been true. I hope that wasn't a dummy-spit in your last post - certainly sounded a bit like one, but I'm not sure why...

Hi NS, Now I am really confused. PDN closed at $0.50 on thursday, so I don't understand how your order at $0.51 wasn't completed on thursday. Cheers, Mosaic

My word - you ARE confused PDN Thursday was Open 0.50, High 0.51, Low 0.49, Close 0.50 I have no idea exactly when my order was placed in relation to the high of 0.51 or the low of 0.49, and some of those at 0.51 would have been mine, but obviously not enough to complete my order. I'm really not sure what you're trying to suggest Mosaic... I placed the order Thursday afternoon, and it was completed on Friday morning - that's all I know. I wasn't using ProTrader in real-time - it was just done through ComSec via the web interface as usual. Sometimes they move in mysterious ways - I have absolutely no idea as to the course of sales and which were mine. But they are, and that's when I got them. What I have so far refrained from mentioning is that it was actually my second buy of PDN - I was already holding another 50,000 bought at 0.32, with this lot being a pyramid up into a total of 100,000, which is what I actually hold now. But for this exercise, the only ones I can use are those bought at 0.51 I'm not quite sure what you're trying to suggest Mosaic, but I would appreciate it very much if you would stop sounding like you're trying to accuse me of something. I must admit that one of the things I enjoy about this forum is the lack of flaming and insults that occur on other forums. It sounds to me like you have a bee in your bonnet about something, but I'm not sure what. I have told you how many shares I have, which I didn't really need to do, and now I've told you that in fact it was my second parcel of shares. I placed the order, I got the shares. Simple as that. The same thing with BSA - order placed, shares bought. How come you're not trying to query those ones too? Now I have had enough of this pointless exchange, and stand by my list of ten stocks as posted, thank you. My real portfolio is doing very nicely, and the list of ten for this exercise is not a contest, so how it relates to my real portfolio is irrelevant.

Greetings Bro H. I am only too happy to invoke a non trans-rectal tonsillectomy pact Mind you, it would not be blood that stained the Hall of Fame if one were to be performed.... ;) (Sorry - just going through the motions...;)) I will desist and refrain from any further slanging, and reserve future comments for a light-hearted exchange and always try to retain a sense of humour. My rubber glove remains un-christened, and hopefully will remain so. Apologies to the rest of the Monastery for the intrusion of some friction - not really sure what caused it, but consider it oiled.

Hi NS, You stated that you placed an order on thursday at $0.51, and that the order was partially filled at $0.51 on thursday, and the remainder was completed at $0.51 on friday. PDN closed at $0.50 on thursday. The course of sales does not support your story - end of story! Cheers, Mosaic

Mosaic - I hereby refrain from further comment. This is getting ridiculous and somewhat insulting. I have told you what I did. Who knows, maybe some of my Thursday order got filled at 0.50 at the close? I don't know, but the price on my share cert is 0.51 dated Friday. End of story indeed. Just one point to consider - what earthly reason could I have for inventing a trade? One of my real trades moreover? I am doing just fine with my portfolio (including the PDN at average price 0.415 thank you) The Hall of Fame is not a contest - who cares who is ahead of whom, except in jest? It is about learning, and I suggest you withdraw your rather insulting innuendo and quietly retreat to your otherwise excellent and useful posts. G'night - hope you sleep well :-) I will.
