sorry to read the discourses on PDN they are so incidental to the main game that it's a shame ill will resulted we should not feel compelled to reveal and prove our actual trades on this forum if there is a desire to dispute "facts" at a personal level, the dispute should remain between the parties via email or another means - not here i hope the light of another day sheds clarity and mosaic's worthy contributions to this and other threads is maintained pax vobiscum rederob

Bro Hilarius - your offer is noted - thank you. While I feel that I should not have to prove anything, I will attend to the matter tonight when I get home. I am currently at work, and as you know, I am restricted to a hospital PC from here in the OT, where I will be until sometime late tonight.

Mosaic As you wish. Still totally lost why the dummy spit but whether your in or out is fine by me. Nobody is forcing anyone and if your not happy with how things are panning out then that is fine too. Hilarius and I are trying to be as flexible as possible with this and rely on each individuals honesty as a professional trader. At present I have no reason to doubt the integrity of any member of this trial. Your imput would be missed. Just let me know when/if you change your mind.

Good Evening In a remarkable display of transparency and integrity, in circumstances where he might well have declined to do so, Nightstalker has provided me ... as an independent intermediary ... with a copy of his contract note for the purchase of 50,000 PDN All but 860 of these were acquired at 51 cents, and the 860 at 50 cents produces an average price before transaction costs of 0.509828 ... a trivial & immaterial difference from 51 cents amounting to $8.60 in the total outlay I trust this resolves the issue and any further comments by anyone should be sent to me by private message I thank Nightstalker for his frankness in this matter and I do hope that Mosaic ... a long standing, respected and able contributor to IC ... will continue to make his exceptional analytical skills available. It would be a sad day if a technicality such as this were to affect the friendships which this Forum nourishes so well An excellent conclusion would be if all parties could put this behind them ... moving forward in firm friendship & treating this like any family problem ... as something to be forgiven with the generosity of which I know they are capable With Best Wishes Hilarius
I come in peace to share my thoughts and to shine my candle light on possible long term opportunities

Thank you Bro H for being the intermediary. I admit to a slight error - I was quoting the price of 0.51 from my portfolio manager, but as you can see, the actual average price was a tad under that, and was rounded for entry into the portfolio manager. I only realized this when I got out the certificate to send you. For that error, I apologise. I too hope that this little tiff/misunderstanding/whatever is now laid to rest, and that Mosaic can see fit to remain in the exercise - after all, he is running second!

Hiraius, NightStalker, Firstly I must apologise to NightStalker for inferring that he was telling porkies. However, what you are saying does not reconcile with my Course of Sales data, and clearly their is a problem with the data that is being provided. I use, and rely upon course of sales data on a regular basis. Hence, I want to follow this issue up with my data provider. To assist me to resolve this issue could you please provide the following information if available: a) the quantity of PDN purchased on thursday 14/10 at $0.51 and at $0.50 (860 already stated) b) the quantity of PDN purchased on friday 15/10 at $0.51 From a previous post I understand that the purchase was done via CommSec. Your assistance would be appreciated, Cheers, Mosaic

Changing to the real purpose of this thread, I am today pleased that the murderous LUM (Lumacor) part of my original 10 has today delivered the announcement awaited by party faithful for the past year. It's difficult to tell if a company is stringing along investors, or if their announcements can be relied on. LUM will have the best possible advertisement (literally) of its potential if and when its sign is in place and working atop 4Times square in the big apple. Next, Minara Resources (MRE) yesterday announced a great first quarter result yet its price has hardly moved. I reviewed the result - near record production of both nickel and cobalt: Nickel prices sold 50% above same time last year and cobalt 2.7 times last year's prices. Allowing for statutory down-time next March, if MRE were to continue at present production rates and market prices, we are looking at a profit increase greater than 50% higher than last year's $100m - but nowhere in the announcement was guidance provided!! My view is that MRE remains undervalued and is due for a BIG correction.

Mosaic - apology accepted Thank you. Now, can we all get back to doing what we do best in here - discuss trading, take the p*ss out of each other, and generally have fun? That's what's been missing the last couple of days, so let's get back to it

Shawky - now that the 'dust' has settled, and just in case there is any lingering perception that my PDN shares somehow were bought at an advantage (they weren't, but never mind), please make the following adjustment if possible: PDN Sell @0.51 on Fri 15th Oct (i.e. last week) AOE Buy @0.455 on Fri 22nd Oct (i.e. yesterday) This gives me one week running at one stock short, with PDN deleted last week, and AOE added as of closing price yesterday. That may make Mosaic and others happy, and given that this is just an exercise, it really doesn't matter to me. I still hold the PDN in my real portfolio, and have been holding AOE for about three weeks anyway. Hopefully that will put any demons finally to rest, and we can all get on with this. I did send a personal message to Mosaic with the info he asked for above, just so that full transparency can be maintained. I'm also glad that he has elected to remain in this exercise.

I am having some trouble here, Rob, in restraining myself from laughing BWAHAHAHAHA Now that chuckle is out of the way, I would just like to say that I really don't want to see myself as somehow having "won" anything over anybody - let's just say a misunderstanding has been resolved But that is a clever bit of work Rob - heheh And re-introducing some humour is definitely what's needed! I hope nobody, especially Mosaic, takes offence where none is intended. At least I would use an anaesthetic.... (Message edited by nightstalker on October 23, 2004)

Not quite sure what you mean, Spider me ol' mate, but if you mean the REAL NightStalkers, the US 160th SOAR (Army Special Ops) - the answer is no. They were the very courageous lot who were in Somalia ("Blackhawk Down") and are currently serving in Iraq, I think. If that's not quite what you meant, just message me...

sorry to be so obscure. "Are you now, or have you ever been , a member of the communist party?" was the first sentence asked of each person brought before the US senate select committee on unamerican activities in the 1950's. You had been interrogated so much recently I thought you would get the reference. Just showing my age, I guess. blind lime spider.

Ping Shawky - could you please make the following changes to my list of ten, as of last Friday? BSL and FCL got stopped out. Sell BSL @ 7.85 (actually sold Thursday, stoploss was at 7.90) Buy PSA @ 1.29 (Friday's close) Sell FCL @ 1.85 (stoploss was at 1.85, but didn't sell the previous 2 days below it, due to going Ex-Div) Buy ABC @ 1.63 (Friday's close) I missed out a bit on FCL - it shot up today, but never mind. Thanks Shawky

Just answering on Bro. Shawky's behalf here, Rob - he's been rather busy in the monastery dungeons (where the plonk is stored) as well as having had a couple of computer problems. So he has been distracted for a week or so. However, he assures me that the graphs will be updated as soon as the Mother Superior and the Novice can agree which one was to blame, and whether or not forgiveness applies if it was all down to the red wine... ;)

TC before others come back with replies that could dupe you into parting with money, my suspicion is that the study group is effectively "closed" for the time being. reasoning is that the "study" aims to determine a number things over time, and much of that "time" has now passed. however, when Bro shawky is released form Mother Superior's clutches, he may have a contrary view, or even a proposal for another "study" to kick off in early 2005. i quickly read thru the present thread thread to see what would attract one to this study. it must be some eclectic desire, or an electronic sadistic tendency towards Bro shawky. for mine, it's the opportunity to outwit marsupial, whose tipping bravado makes base jumpers seem like gutless wonders!

If base jumpers had the same success jumping as some people do with tipping, then they would indeed be "gutless" wonders... Splat! I see another one hit the dirt in the Blue Mountains the other day, following in the splat-prints of the one who did the concrete dive in Beijing. They plummet in much the same way as many of my stock tips! ;) Which reminds me of the simile: "The boat glided over the water in much the same way as a stone doesn't"

It seems I have not been doing a very good Job. I just tried to update Nightstalker's porfolio and found I had missed the changes posted on Sep 17. Worst still I have even neglected my portfolio, forgetting to update it for OST being stopped out at 2.90 (stop was 2.91) on 14th Oct. Both BSL and OST were stopped out in my real portfolio and I replaced them with CPU (14th Oct) and ALN (20th Oct). However given the huge rise in CPU since the 14th Oct (bought at 4.16) I leave it to the other players to tell me if I can back fill the changes or do them as of Friday's close. Mosaic, what do you consider fair and reasonable seeing you are taking the execution of this game very seriously? Nightstalker, as I could not find your Buy order for LNN I could not replace it with SLT and subsequently the SLT stop is also invalid so you can not buy BSA. Even though I run automatic stops, I'm leaving my portfolio as it is until I conduct a full review. I haven't been too well lately and had too many other things to do too. TC Unfortunately, this study is closed to new portfolios for the moment. Your welcome to join the discussion though and post your picks. New2 Something has happened to FAN and GNS and you haven't posted the changes. If they have changed names or conducted a share split or been taken over please post the changes as Sells, Buys with the relevant dates. I found the GNS split so will execute a sell/buy using GNSDA for the intervening period. I'm not really sure what happened with FAN, but have replaced it (1:1) with FANDB - hope that was a good guess. Josl LOK did a 1 for 20 CDI consolidation effective 5 Nov so I sold your existing holding at 11c and bought back 10k worth at $2.20. To all Players I would appreciate it if you would keep a closer eye on your holdings. If a share stops trading, does a stock split, code change then my spreadsheet won't update the portfolios for the data will be missing from my EOD file. In future, the offending open positions will be closed. The chart below is based on the changes described above (i.e. I still hold OST until ratified, New2, Josl, Nightstalkers may not be correct either). Also posted are players holdings as recorded 5 NOV.
