If you tick the >>>"Send e-mail notification as HTML text rather than plain text" in the email notification settings of your profile, you will receive the posts in their original format (with charts etc included). Happy days, Create

Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. I have always had the HTML option ticked but 99.9% of the time no chart shows in the emails I receive. Colin/Robin, do we know why there is a problem with graphics in emails? FWIW I use Outlook 2002 as my mail client.
cheers peterj

Peter Please follow the steps at Newsletter Troubleshooting: Security Levels and at No Images. Trusted addresses for both firewall and IE Security should be set to: http://66.70.45.171 http://66.70.45.174 https://66.70.45.174 http://www.incrediblecharts.com.au http://www.incrediblecharts.com http://app.incrediblecharts.com https://app.incrediblecharts.com Colin

Gohard The first step would be to exit Zone Alarm and PC-cillin. Does this make a difference when you open an email? There is a first class firewall available at Kerio.com. Free for private use. I rate this far above ZA. In fact, with this available, there is no need to buy firewall software. Colin

Colin, I confess I am confused. These charts referred to - do they relate to your newsletter - which is fine for me - or to the individual mailouts of the messages posted on the Forum - which only has a placeholder for the graphics in there. If that is correct - is there any way to actually get the software to also send out the graphics?

Bundy It is the Forum emails. Some members are receiving them with images and some without, when they select the rich text (html) option. This points to a firewall or internet security setting blocking the image attachment. Colin

Colin Am checking my emails now with zone and pc-cillin turned of and found no change just reading Bundys post((which only has a placeholder for the graphics in there) it seems wide spread as we all probably have different software in place doing different jobs the question is are any of the forum members receiving the images opened in their emails i have downloaded Kerio but will wait for further discussion before changing over from Zone Alert thanks G

Ok, thanks for that. Bugger............ I'm just going to turn my firewall off for a sec and attach a small graph to this message to see if it comes through - my apologies to people and thank you for indulging me while I sort out this issue.

Robin tells me that it could also be a bug in the Discus software, because it is running on a Windows server when originally designed for Linux. We plan to shift the forum and website to a Linux server within a few weeks; so if all else fails we may have to wait until then. Colin

When I turned off norton internet security - the graphic came through. I have turned if on again - and will attach the graphic again to confirm that norton is the problem. Looking at norton settings - I cannot see anything that should prevent the graphic - my default setting is the same as any specific setting I would make for IC. Is anyone using norton getting the graphics? If so, could they please post the solution to the problem here - I'm sure there would be others that would also appreciate it.
