Good Morning Colin

Are you able to suggest a way of loading the Shanghai Index?

I understand the code is XX:1801730

Hilarius,
I wasn't sure where to put the article below, interesting that nothing has been mentioned about the two main chinese indices bouncing back the day after the "correction", whereas all the other stock markets took a week.
Looks like the Chinese bubble is still well and truly intact. I wonder what the next govt strategy will be!

Hilarius, Yahoo used to call it ^SSEC and provide historical data. Now they call is 000001.SS and won't allow me to download historical data, but they will display it.

Here's a 2 year line chart:

Thanks for the Shanghai chart

Makes one wonder what all the US and local market fuss was REALLY all about?

Probably just an overbought market needing a solid sell off?

Maybe still not enough sell off yet to shake out all the over leveraged people with insufficient understanding of risk

At least no one at IC would have been over-leveraged or lacking in money management (limitation of risk through conservative position sizing)?

Surely no one here wants to get rich overnight?

Even if it were possible, which it rarely is

Thanks Fibonacci
It could have completed 5 waves, if that was the case, we should get an ABC. Where it is right now looks like a support level to me, from the previous high.
You may well be right. But something doesnt look quite right. I think the volume looks a bit too week to be a top of great significance. (similar to that in Nasdaq and S&P500 in 2k). To be a real top, We need some sort of buying climax, where the majority is locked into poor positions before geninue decline can take place.

So Captain

In your flat bottomed shore going lighter I take it you will be scanning the Sacred Ganges for bargains rather than the Yellow River?

Hilarius,
If you are thinking longer term India will be the place to be, they are one of the few economies not going to be hit by the demographic time bomb. Anything that has a focus on agriculture seems to be the way to go, the govt recently announced that the greatest amount of spending will be on the rural sector (presumably that means infrastructure too). What Australian companies have been trying to gain access to India -other than BHP and RIO?

Regards
Kate
