Ahoy Phil In Plain English A sail, is a sail, is a sail Sail shifting is common practice at sea as are Wind shifts It is the Captain's duty to judge these "Wind Shifts" with as much diligence as he would judge a "Sea Change" Over the last 3 days Was BHP a better hold than CBA? Was RIO a better hold than ANZ? Was WPL a better hold than SGB? Was NCM a better hold than BEN? Was AWC a better hold than COH? Was LGL a better hold than SUN? On all accounts So Far it seems I made the right call and all answers are N.O. ATM In hindsight it would have been much better to Sell all the Resources on the Friday and Buy the ~Banks etc so on the Monday I honestly gambled that the Fed would drop rates on Friday night NY Standing Time Greed got to me again! Well, I was wrong and as always paid the price on Monday on the buying prices but not the Selling prices In Plain English on Friday I Sold Well and Bought Poorly But Today I am happy! Salute and Gods' speed
PS As my Daddy always says If it's not a Bargain this year It will be a Bargain Next year

Here is another analysis which shows something is up or down or sideways. Following a simple method, I scanned for stocks in the finance/property sector which had shown a steady downtrend. Last week the list was AFG, AEZ, AUW, BNB, CNP, CER, CGF, CIY, FKP, GPT, HGI, IFL, MCW, MDT, MQG, MGR, SUN, VPG. Of these only IFL and MDT bucked the trend and rose on the week. Similarly the zoomers in resources were AQP, CEY, FMG, IPL, IGO, LGL, LYC, MCC, MGX, NCM, WSA. Of these only LGL bucked the trend and declined on the week. This week I did the same scan. After Monday 14 of 18 sinkers are floating, and 10 of 11 zoomers are crashing. Another informal measure is that the weekly stock pick competition sees only one or two choices ahead when normally it is about half. Strange days indeed or business as usual? Ahoy Officer SmallWorld I just claimed above that a Sail is a Sail Is a Sail I know you and our Brave and Loyal Crew know what I mean What I meant was that a Heavyweight Sail Is a Heavy sail is a Heavy Sail is a heavy sail and not all sails are the same by weight Do you have the latest Weightings of sail you can share with me/us? If you feel this sort of info is "Private Intellectual Property " then maybe you can share it with me privately? I think I would draw the line @ Pink sheets > $20 M Red sheets > $50 M Green sheets > $200 M Blue Sheets > $1000 M White Heavyweights > $5000 M As you well know BIG Mistakes can be made shifting sails into position thinking a Green sheet is actually a Pink sheet LOL! Salute and Gods speed

Ahoy Brave and Loyal crew Here's a good idea (I think?) Maybe we should hang DUG from the highest mast She is registered in the USA with the Code DUG-us and the Charts are readily available on IC She is not like any other sail I have ever seen! She has been designed specifically as a share to short the price of OIL (WITHOUT ALL THE DANGERS OF OPEN CONTRACTS) as I understand it? I think this is the NAVY WAY/SAFETY WAY of shorting OIL As you can see in the Chart she looks like a BUY If one stands on his head it looks Like a Sell This chart actually should be viewed standing on one's head Crikey! Wouldn't it be nice one day to have an "Invert button" on IC? Here's the Chart for DUG
Best viewed standing upside down in the boat as it is really a Bet/Investment on the Price of Oil going DOWN when the share goes UP If ya know what I mean? I tried to order a few tonite over the Commsec International desk but was advised I had to open a "Special account FIRST" and this will take 5 bloody days Ahoy officers Lafee Smallworld and Clever Kenny I will have to leave it you lucky bastards with International accounts already in place Bon Voyage and Gods' speed "Preparation is Everything"

I can see that you had some fun with this post, Capt Chaza. This is one of many ETF's (electronically traded funds) that are available in the US mostly through AMEX. There are a few available in Europe. These funds are designed to follow the price of an index or a commodity. Some are designed to be long the underlying and some are designed to be short the underlying. These ETFs allow those personal funds (IRA, SMSF) that cannot short to buy into funds that can. There are some ETF's that trade using leverage if you want some faster price movement. These are named with "ultra". It is a rapidly developing area, but you must check if there is adequate volume. Google "proshares" for further info.
