CR, I also read it (twice), and I noticed your error. So people do read your dribble. Endorphin, IMO, you are trying to make a difficult task (TA) a lot tougher by looking at profiting from retracements. By definition, a retracement is limited in value. Realistically, you will only capture 50% of the retracement by the time that you identify the opportunity, and allow for the giveback of the stop-loss. In the case of RCD, it has already given back a fair bit, so your entry is fairly late. Looking at the chart, it is in a fairly strong uptrend (>50% p.a), so it would be dangerous to get in the way of the train.
Do the funnymentals count? Is it worth checking the funnymentals? Well in the case of RCD the answer is probably yes! RCD announce that they are in merger discussions. This explains the most recent spike up. Now the danger is that you enter a position, the company announces a trading halt for a few days, the terms and conditions of the merger is announced, trading resumes and the share price gaps x% (up or down?). An Easier/More Reliable Trading Strategy Many of the gurus(?) that write TA/trading books and forum members advocate trading with the trend, and entering on retracements. Cheers, Mosaic

Endorphin, the RCD 118X person is back again once RCD got back to $8.02 this morning but now, at least for the moment, is buying 1183 at a time today instead of 1187 1187 and 1188 as on Friday......Tony_M

Hi Tony, Just a guess, could this be index trading? The minor differences reflecting the slight changes in weighting? Chris

I find that really interesting(the buyer that is). I'm not in RCD at present but my indicators told me it was a good short last Wednesday the 14th, even getting out today would have resulted in a healthy trade for me. Having looked at RCD over the long term I agree it is a strong stock, but as I've said I'm a short term trader. This trader is obviously buying on the "retracement" and that tells me to WATCH it closely because sooner (rather than later)RCD will re-establish it's upward trend and be a good long trade, IMHO anyway. Curious that the XAO is sitting point 2 of 1 point off it's high high today(at the time of writing this), I think it will punch through but for cryin' out loud, I think the big fat red bloke is runnin' a few deer short this year. It's a bit like watchin paint dry today. Tim
