Hi all welcome to New Series 6 week 4 Place your entries in here, Please check the new continuation rule. New tipster's always welcome. ENTRY CONDITIONS Please ensure that all entries are made in the following format and on one line. poster (lower case) ASX CODE (UPPER CASE) L - S - LC - SC (UPPER CASE) with shorts S in RED e.g.: poster XYZ L Please post details on the same line as per the above example (for faster cut & paste to spreadsheet) Leave one line space before greetings, salutations and 'stock ramping'. 10:00 Deadline for all new entries. LC entries must be made before the close of the market on the preceding week. And here's the rules. 1) The competition is for thirteen weeks. Starting on Monday 1 October 2007 and finishing on Friday 28 December 2007. That is, all contestants start with an accumulated total of Zero and build it up weekly from a starting stake of $5000. Only one stock (per week) may be nominated by a competitor. 2)You must post a chart. No chart - no entry. It would also be desirable that you briefly explain your reasons for making your choice. Captions within charts are acceptable. The purpose of the chart is to clearly illustrate the reasons for your choice. Note: For reasons of clarity Colin has requested that there should be no more than two indicators per chart. If you wish to show more indicators then please post two or more charts. 3)You must obey the Forum rules. I.e. no disrespect to other members. 4) Shorts are allowed - subject to the following guidelines:- Anyone can enter a short - but it will be the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that it's on the official ASX list. I'm not going to check it myself. If any other competitors lodge a protest that the stock is not on the list - and that proves to be the case - then instant disqualification. Follow this link for available shorts http://www.asx.com.au/data/shortsell.txt 5) The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 6) Continuation: Contestants may nominate that the stock they picked for the current week will also be their pick for the following week. However, this decision must be announced and posted in the new week’s thread BEFORE 4.00PM on the Friday of the current week. So you can post on Thursday night if you wish after the new thread has been posted. What this means is that if you either forget or purposefully refrain to nominate that particular stock as a continuation before Friday’s close but still choose to run with it in the following week then the starting price for your entry will be the new week’s Monday’s open rather than the previous week's (Friday) close. If you wish to choose to pick one stock to last for the whole (or remainder) of the competition you may do so but you must clearly specify this before the appropriate close-off time. If you do this then you WILL need to make weekly “reminder” posts that you are continuing. Cheers Bluedog

rockon AAR L Half tempted to stick with RMA as its two thirds of the way to completing a falling three.If it can stay above the .025 mark then there is hope it may push up over 3 cents again but instead, I will hope that AAR can crack 10 cents sometime during the week and maybe stay there until friday and then possibly setting itself up for the week after as well. Thanks to bluedog and good luck to all

dug EDE L coyotte I think did an explanation of this set-up in the AWB thread long term,waaaay better than I could. I've done a Specific Thread for EDE here in Short Term where a longer term chart is illustrated and there I'll go into "specifics". cheers. ps-gohard did you read my post to you on NAV at the beginning of last weeks comp?Are you REALLY buying NAV or just charting it? If the former open up a NEW Thread[not kick up the one from months ago,too much baggage there]but if you're actually interested in NAV,I got some negativities on it I'm happy to share.

Bluedog NCM S Going short this week as marked on the chart NCM is displaying a diagonal terminal. The proper entry is on a close below where I have marked the arrow. After the US action on friday night you'd expect monday to be down but the correction will need to hold up for the week. There is a possibility that gold will correct down to 720 although it looks fairly strong at the moment. I'll be looking to short if it doesn't gap down to much come monday.The trade is negated with a close above fridays high. Cheers and good trading Bluedog. PS Paul (yogi) helping from Wed to tuesday while I'm at work. Thanks heaps yogi.Please be kind to him. }

tryhay VPE L I wonder how many short we'll see in the comp this week? VPE came up on a scan with 1,1,1,1 (beautiful set of numbers) and the chart looks attractive: increased volume and price action, indicators turning +ve, bouncing off long term support ~ what more could one want - except perhaps for the oil price to bounce back & more company announcement/s? (with 5 recent price sensitive Company Announcements I think I'll just sit back & dream)..... Chart: even with a down market resistance is futile...
might even buy into VPE if monday is down to >= 12.7c .... happy trading & thanks chaps

That the start of the week will be awash in red candles is a given. How long the candles will be is less certain as is the duration of the red period. Hopefully, not too long. My selection for this week is a short. Lower highs, OBV down heaps. No support above $7. Not enough to win but looks like a profitable CFD trade. Hershy AMC Short

SEN : although a similar situation as 1987 as far as i recall regarding liquidity -- the major indexs are nothing like they where back then -- then they where in " parabolic blowoff trends " --- and had been for a couple of years -- it was all to do with the "new era " these new dam'n computer thingo's would be able to nut it all out! it was also the very early stages of "trading" in the USA of buying the DIPS and selling the HIGHS (housewives where forming trading clubs) -- very little of it in Ozz though , you where regarded as a Wirdo if you even mentioned it here. there was a major correction earlier in the year and after the bloodbath in Oct all the smartarses in hindsight pointed to that as the warning .--- could be wrong but i think this is chalk and cheese . On with SEN : GMMA's : LT still gradually rising -- the lows staying well clear --- there appeared to be some "stopping Vol " on Thurs. Weeklys look O/K to me with the Log chart looking even better. -- time will tell . . .

sittingduck NEC L Rising weekly MACD, so entering into an established trend. Up-trend has 3 points so it's should have some strength (or I am too late and it's going to run out of puff). Stop would be 1.52, target about 2.22 (though I am hopeless at setting targets)
