Hi all
welcome to New Series 6 week 6 Place your entries in here, Please check the new continuation rule. New tipster's always welcome.

ENTRY CONDITIONS
Please ensure that all entries are made in the following format and on one line.
poster (lower case) ASX CODE (UPPER CASE) L - S - LC - SC (UPPER CASE) with shorts S in RED
e.g.: poster XYZ L
Please post details on the same line as per the above example (for faster cut & paste to spreadsheet)

Leave one line space before greetings, salutations and 'stock ramping'.
10:00 Deadline for all new entries.
LC entries must be made before the close of the market on the preceding week.
And here's the rules.
1) The competition is for thirteen weeks. Starting on Monday 1 October 2007 and finishing on Friday 28 December 2007. That is, all contestants start with an accumulated total of Zero and build it up weekly from a starting stake of $5000. Only one stock (per week) may be nominated by a competitor.

2)You must post a chart. No chart - no entry. It would also be desirable that you briefly explain your reasons for making your choice. Captions within charts are acceptable. The purpose of the chart is to clearly illustrate the reasons for your choice.

Note: For reasons of clarity Colin has requested that there should be no more than two indicators per chart. If you wish to show more indicators then please post two or more charts.

3)You must obey the Forum rules. I.e. no disrespect to other members.

4) Shorts are allowed - subject to the following guidelines:-

Anyone can enter a short - but it will be the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that it's on the official ASX list. I'm not going to check it myself. If any other competitors lodge a protest that the stock is not on the list - and that proves to be the case - then instant disqualification. Follow this link for available shorts http://www.asx.com.au/data/shortsell.txt

5) The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6) (a) Continuation: Contestants may nominate that the stock they picked for the current week will also be their pick for the following week. However, this decision must be announced and posted in the new week’s thread BEFORE 4.00PM on the Friday of the current week. So you can post on Thursday night if you wish after the new thread has been posted.
(b) You may also have a fresh selection that can be posted from the Thursday night which will receive Fridays close price if posted before the close on Friday.

What this means is that if you either forget or purposefully refrain to nominate that particular stock as a continuation before Friday’s close but still choose to run with it in the following week then the starting price for your entry will be the new week’s Monday’s open rather than the previous week's (Friday) close.

If you wish to choose to pick one stock to last for the whole (or remainder) of the competition you may do so but you must clearly specify this before the appropriate close-off time. If you do this then you WILL need to make weekly “reminder” posts that you are continuing.
Cheers
Bluedog

Hi Dug & Chaza,

I really value your contributions to this forum.

Please don't let this escalate into getting either or both of you suspended from the group.

Ahoy Sea-dog Duggie
Courage is not the only thing

"It is Everything!"

The rules were changed whilst we were in the sin-bin and it was decided that those with the Courage to buy on the Friday's close need not have bought on the previous Monday

Capish? Capishco?

IE" There are TWO entry points in this little regatta.
Friday's close for the Exceptionally Brave who like to take their chances of holding over the Week's-end or Monday's Open for those Brave enough to enter at their own risk after lots of thinking

I don't think I need to repeat what I think of those who protect their egos in egg shells with the Long Term excuse and refrain fron testing their seamanship skills against this worlds' best

(If theere was anybody better than us He/She would be here)

Crikey! Can't they see what sort of prize money is on offer when one puts in the hard yards

A LC Long continuation
Re our Brave and Loyal Officer St Peter Loh
We can't have double accounting practices as you suggest

This week's gain will be credited and as in the real world
he starts off with the pre Week's-end closing price

Please note Officer Coyote held GGY this week and has ventured on the KAR at Fridays close for next week

Courage is not given to everyone

Salute and Gods' speed

Now I'm not trying to be "confusing" but can I just get a Ruling?
Are we NOW allowed to declare an entry BEFORE Friday's Close? AND such entry need NOT be our previous week's Selection?
So to simplify-is Charles' Entry VALID under some new rule change?
see Peter Loh's Long Continue was INVALID under the old Rules. Why? because he didn't continue/declare BEFORE Friday's Close last week. Now I saw yogi-in-oz dismiss his LC CCC entry on Monday as Out of Time AND I saw Peter Loh's Wednesday post asking that for the next TWO weeks be entered as a Continue but his entry THIS bloody blasted Week is NOT a CONTINUE.

Geez some of you "Fellow Members" just don't seem to be very AWAKE.
and you have the audacity to feel free to Rip into ME!!

So have the rules been changed?
Can one now on a Friday enter a NEW share on Friday's Close Price as long as it's declared before 4pm Friday?
if not?well it's not me who has No Clue about arbitrary stupid Rules!!
It's not me who has some damned problem!
it's ........

rockon GOP L

Thought I'd better post my pick before the page ran out:-)

A breakout from a falling wedge with OK volume, but with a crackerjack TMF divergence that if one looks closely, has cracked the zero line...Good luck to all & thanks to Bluedog and Yogi.

Just to add fuel to the mire (hehe...), some of us do not have screen time during the day. So should we wish to go with a "continuation", we would need to make our decision on a Thursday evening. To me that is not equitable but I am happy to go with the rule book, it's not an issue for me. My need to win is tempered by my apathy.
Ok, so for this week, I am selecting a stock that has shown me a win when I traded the right shoulder of the very visible H & S. Since then NGM has tested, and found wanting, areas of previous support reaching the target set by the H & S and produced a very distinct 5 wave move. Now, with Major Support at .275 and minor support at .25, NGM has broken above a negative trend line and seems headed for Major Resistance @ 43 cents, an area it is capable of covering in 5 days though we must not forget Cup day. Longer term, this baby is looking to reach previous highs at around 80 cents.
Director buying last week has encouraged me to don my rose coloured glasses.

Thanks Coyotte,
for posting the rule, I was at my sons speech night last night (last one, hooray),that should answer your query as well Hershy because when the proposed rule change was started I said the only disadvantage was for those such as yourself, and me 50% of the time can't post on a friday, so thats why you can post on thursday night after the next thread has been posted. Everyone had plenty of opportunity to offer their opinion when it was being discussed. So I can only assume the majority was happy with the change.
Regarding Perterlohs last week that was posted on the weekend I think?.
Cheers and good trading

KAR

picking up where Alvee left off last week in the comp.

generally a Bull Flags diagonals are drawn with the Upper Line being the priority line -- the Lower Line is simply a parallel of this line to better visualize the pattern -- US text book style claims a breach of this lower line is a Exit
Guppy style , not necessarily so as it can simply be a tidy up of the sellers , letting prices now rise .

There also appears to be a 4 point trend line supporting the Flag .

Flag was tested , 2 days later the breakout at around $3.70 and confirmed on Friday which was also the 4th test of the trend line.

depends where u take the resistance from $2.20 or $ 2.40 , either way there is at a least a $1.60 gain from the $3.70 level ( $5.30 / $5.50 ) --- IF THE PATTERN PLAYS OUT .
