Hi all
welcome to New Series 6 week 10 Place your entries in here, Please check the new continuation rule. New tipster's always welcome.

ENTRY CONDITIONS
Please ensure that all entries are made in the following format and on one line.
poster (lower case) ASX CODE (UPPER CASE) L - S - LC - SC (UPPER CASE) with shorts S in RED
e.g.: poster XYZ L
Please post details on the same line as per the above example (for faster cut & paste to spreadsheet)

Leave one line space before greetings, salutations and 'stock ramping'.
10:00 Deadline for all new entries.
LC entries must be made before the close of the market on the preceding week.
And here's the rules.
1) The competition is for thirteen weeks. Starting on Monday 1 October 2007 and finishing on Friday 28 December 2007. That is, all contestants start with an accumulated total of Zero and build it up weekly from a starting stake of $5000. Only one stock (per week) may be nominated by a competitor.

2)You must post a chart. No chart - no entry. It would also be desirable that you briefly explain your reasons for making your choice. Captions within charts are acceptable. The purpose of the chart is to clearly illustrate the reasons for your choice.

Note: For reasons of clarity Colin has requested that there should be no more than two indicators per chart. If you wish to show more indicators then please post two or more charts.

3)You must obey the Forum rules. I.e. no disrespect to other members.

4) Shorts are allowed - subject to the following guidelines:-

Anyone can enter a short - but it will be the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that it's on the official ASX list. I'm not going to check it myself. If any other competitors lodge a protest that the stock is not on the list - and that proves to be the case - then instant disqualification. Follow this link for available shorts http://www.asx.com.au/data/shortsell.txt

5) The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6) (a) Continuation: Contestants may nominate that the stock they picked for the current week will also be their pick for the following week. However, this decision must be announced and posted in the new week’s thread BEFORE 4.00PM on the Friday of the current week. So you can post on Thursday night if you wish after the new thread has been posted.
(b) You may also have a fresh selection that can be posted from the Thursday night which will receive Fridays close price if posted before the close on Friday.

What this means is that if you either forget or purposefully refrain to nominate that particular stock as a continuation before Friday’s close but still choose to run with it in the following week then the starting price for your entry will be the new week’s Monday’s open rather than the previous week's (Friday) close.

If you wish to choose to pick one stock to last for the whole (or remainder) of the competition you may do so but you must clearly specify this before the appropriate close-off time. If you do this then you WILL need to make weekly “reminder” posts that you are continuing.
Cheers
Bluedog

Coyotte GMI LC

chart to follow
atm the XJO seems to be finding support above 6400 , would take it that if this level holds today then the Xmas rally will be on .

Cheers

rockon TTY L

But first a gift from me to Tryhay......

image

From Mon. open to Fri. close, Lady luck surely has a say in matters and it helps us not if we are locked in with nowhere to go...which is my angle with a random pick... BUT, This fellow may now become a good cash generator as have many aussie gas-pumpers operating in the USA and is now on my watch list.and everyone else's I hope...Good luck with this fellow if you hold.

Now to TTY, Still plenty of $1 Share Purchase Plan shares to be sold I think, but as today's close may have demonstrated, buyers may be starting to worry that this is as low as its going to get and are now starting to push a little. As far as T/A is concerned, a bounce off Med. term trendline may just be what the doctor ordered.

Hope I'm right for a change..... Thanks to Bluedog & Yogi and good luck to all.

Triangles are either a reversal or usually a continuation pattern. I would like to think that this one is a reversal triangle. New low on Monday, breakout on Wednesday.......

GMI

a holding stock with the worlds major miners as it's portfolio , as expected tracks the XMM with annual volatility of around 50/90% several times a year -- so much for the Blue Chips being stable.

.

2 year chart -- Since late Sept, GMMAs the short term have not penetrated the long term along with only minor dips of price into the long term band .

.

a TAZ chart
this is the swing system posted by gdd3 as I understand it -- varies from gdd3's method but is more closely aligned with what i seem to make of the method -- could be wrong though.

The TAZ system like Weinstein requires trading in the current direction of the Market and uses the William's % Indicator as part of determining this.

The William's % Indicator is then dropped out of the method .

The TAZ Forum has come up with (for Long )

200D MA -- rising and above
10D SMA -- below
30D EMA -- above
ADX -- the AD Line above 20 and preferably coming up from below , rather than above as in this example.

Volume rule is US based and for larger Cap Stocks $10 min.

----------------------------------------------------------------
There are 3 setups and all need the forgoing first -- then any one of the 3 setups take over.

This is one Setup:

The Tail has breached the 30d ma -- Entry can be near the end of the Market Close , as long as the TAIL remains intact or on Open the following day .

There are no targets under any of TAZ rules.

Cheers.

SMY
A 3 swing correction after an impulsive advance, the 3rd leg of which is just in the cluster zone, Volume has increased and twiggs money flow turning up, an aggresive trade which still needs a pivot to form at this point and move north from here on, any movement below fridays low will negate the trade.
Cheers Bluedog

SittingDuck IIN L

I'm back (or at least the in-laws are gone back to Blighty :-) So maybe I can claw my way back to even before the end of the comp??????

Changes in government may mean some movement in the broadband sector, but it could be good or bad news for IIN. At least in the short term I would expect this to run to the 2.40 resistance level it hit May/June.

A longer term view

Reasoning as follows:

1. Classic breakout from downtrend on good volume.
2. Target is recent resistance point, which co-incides with the long-term average intersection. Realistically, it could climb to 42c in the Xmas rally.
3. ADXs about to cross over into bullish territory.
3. Adelaide Res has 7 or 8 different projects (U238, Fe, Au) which means its risk is diversified. The management seems pretty active in cutting deals, joint ventures, etc.
4. I'm from Adelaide and sentimentally would like to see it do well (not a very TA reason, I'll admit).
