As with Gold Juniors, thought to do a sort of Iron Orers.
Explorers perhaps on the cusp of Production.Some/Most of these will be more either orers in the sense that they'll be exploring for other "stuff" not just Iron Ore.

Now there's a Superior Grade Iron Ore as well as Junk Grade.I've forgotten which is which but Discovery of the Superior Type is far better than d'Junk.
Iron Ore has also been flavour of the month "gear" so there's a lot of WannaBees,Give Us some Money and we could Find it 4Ya Types out there.I figure FDL is in this category and don't want to bother checking it out despite it's me2ism vis a vis Fortesque Tenements.

Anyhow I've got-
IRM,MDX,TRH, and TTY
to start with.
Any others?preferably under $1 but a limited Shares On Issue over that price Company could be of interest.

So all You out there any other contributions to an Iron Ore Explorer/Near Producer List for culling'n'grading?

cheers.

Dig for the sake of it.

Could be many others but this has proved to be a nice, tight, compact work list. Some could be more than pure Iron Ore plays but it suits me for a quick eyeball scan.Cheers.

GIR,GBG,MMX,MGX?.The first two fit well I feel. The latter two are already producers, though only in the early stages.
I hold two,one I sold and am currently trying to get back into, and the other has an internal scuffle going on regarding an unlisted partner to build a port!.Thanks for the new thread. My first post was along the Iron Ore Juniors line.I didn't realise the way to draw discussion was to start a new thread. Thanks Dug.Regards Aaron.

Thanks rockon.I've started going thru them on just a chart basis. My broker site is down today for repairs so no FA or even Company set up of Shares on Issue etc to do my cull.

So far A-F I have
AGO >$2 in a Consolidation above the 150 Long term MA.New ATH [all time High] flirter?
BRM and CFE the same with Uptrend more pronounced.greater ATH possibility?
CFE >$1 but,better?more leverage?

>$1 Downtrending AXO and BCI with FRS more flatlining with some chances in FRS.Gaps recent etc.CXM wallowing no momentum signs yet.

CUL 20cents> Uptrending,ATH real possibilities?

So I'll show more interest in order of preferences
CUL especially because of Leverage under 20 cents but beyond 10 cents Price
and CFE below $1 same bias.
BRM and AGO being beyond $2 will require more checking out on some FA lines to draw me away from CUL a TA goer.

one who's working on it-
Sorry if this is all short hand/jargon to you. Please explain more on Which of the shares you mentioned you actually Hold and/or are looking at Buying In.
Do you have Day Job expertise in Iron Ore?or are you just buying the Action recently in Iron Ore Shares?

cheers.

Started shoving up Individual Charts within this thread.
GBG and GIR so far.
GWR requires some explanation of recent chart action gapping up over a $1.A blink at it's chart shows another Gap 190/$2 for resistance so it's all a bit too too Limbo Land for near term Buying.

Have to do some other stuff now.
so later.
cheers.

G'Day Dug,

I'm not in the job and I have'nt got any open Iron Ore positions at the moment.I just keep a swag of watchlists-one each for Copper,Led,Zinc etc. etc. etc. with a reasonable amount of smallish boys in each and then find out what commodity is cooking the most at the moment, then a GMMA eyeball on the appropriate watchlist has been working a treat so far(except didn't factor in rain/flooding problems at QLD coal fields a few months ago.)Any trade that stretches past a week or so warrants some deeper digging as has been discussed in other threads in the past.Coal and Fertiliser seems to be hot at the moment but I am keeping an eye on CFE for a breakout of 70 and I have some $$$$ earmarked for TTY as soon as they can get their rear ends into gear. Was heavily into TTY last year but IO has by no means run out of steam just yet.

Strong sector--- Strong sub sector---strong stock...suits me...but not much help for your thread though.

So you're basically doin' D'Captain method, rockon. You're not doing anything wrong doing that.Afterall it's a very written about in books Method. Not some super hero secret you've ripped off, agree?

I'm doing a Variation.I'm taking that we've been thru Poor Times and figuring these will continue.Suppose it's not so much "Poor" but different now to the Past Bull of recent years.I see that under 10% wins this weeks comp for example.

Anyway,I'm going thru lists like you've provided, rockon to find those Companies that with stood Best the recent Bear.
Iron Ore was Hot all thru this period yet so many on your list have "Fallen in Grace",have a Disgrace for a Chart.
So I'm figuring they're hopeless despite any hype about them eg GBG and get culled.

When I find those with still potential, have not been Sold Down recently, well I'm thinking that's a short cut thru the FA palaver.Like the Market approves of them so best to concentrate on checking them out and ditch, even from Watchlisting, all the rest.Good Times aren't coming back anytime soon so They[d'downtrenders] probably won't too.

I mostly go into my personal angles about shares like FA,Register Check, etc after I buy them.At least the first "bit"/parcel.It's a Motivational thing.
However if my preliminary scan digs up some "special" qualities well,I run thru the shares FActs, get some idea of what story/scenario is Happening, check out Depth and Course of Sales Action and may, well, jump in pretty quick.

I'm trying to "smooth" this aspect at the moment.I'm finding a Lot of False Starts, tight stops hit on the bleeding day I buy, that sorta stuff.

Anyway,I'm taking a Holiday next week.25th Wedding Anniversary so I'm trying to wooo my "banker" to release some more Trading Funds.
for Fun'n'Profit.
cheers.

I'm not sure if the carnage of the past few months can be attributed to the individual companies themselves as there has been a swag of evil forces at work on the larger stocks as well as the babies.Admittadly, some stocks will take months or possibly years to recover to old highs and some will bounce straight back, hence my GMMA eyeball. Before any sort of FA is done, it's just been simpler for me to make sure the price/sentiment is heading in the right direction first.Sorry, too much waffling from me but not much on Iron Ore.

rockon-
I'm figuring that any shares that did NOT get mangled in the "Carnage of the last few months" must/could have something "Good" going for them.
Substantial Holders bought the weak hands dump for example.Substantial Holders had sufficient "FAith" in the Company to not Sell on the General Markets' Signal.
ie The "Smart Money" stuck with these Particular Shares so therefore a pilgrim to MaMMon like us should concentrate ONLY on such shares and not have a Watchlist of Scores in Number but of Scores in GOers,Definitely On the Go shares in this sector that have this PROOF of their "Righteousness".
ie ALL Time High Approachers even in these "troubled" times.
GO blue sky.Not hope for Fallen Angels to "Flutter" again.

I'll get back to sorting your provided list, later rockie
cheers.

So I've dissected the list and the ones that suit me and my budget'n'style are
IRM/MDX because their Tenements have Big Company Interests next door. They have to prove up their resources however with MDX having a recent Flurried Buy In by a Substantial. There's a Thread in here about all this malarky that I'll kick up when I actually buy.

CFE-at 70cents is definitely in the Field of criteria discussed above.

similarly UMC [$1.30]GIR with it's chart in a sub thread to this.

I'll look further into IRL because it hasn't been a Year yet Listed.

FRS has some marginal Chart Possibilities.

CUL is under 20cents so has Short Term Trade Go in it.

AGO and BRM fit criteria of at or near enuf to ATH but they're over $2 but that of itself doesn't disqualify these from Watch.BRM's chart especially is worthy.

MGX,OMH,WSA are out of my "League".However I will look over their Announcement History so as to find what Factors shoot Iron Orers into Solid Blue Sky.Grades of discoveries required to be Decent, proximity to Infrastructure, stuff like that.

So these are the ones that make the first cull with MDX and CFE the chief contenders for me.
cheers.

A very timely thread Dug. This sector is exploding at the moment. Hope your work is showing some good profits.

Rockon: Your list contains some very good trends and many recent breakouts. You should be enjoying this market also.
